This is amazing. There is a wonderful array of hues in the greens. The woman is beautifully positioned and painted. Love the eyes. for me, the foundation of human beauty is in the eyes and in smiles.
May I ask how close this is to the original? I have never seen a scan or photo of a painting that did not need a fair amount of work to make it match the original. Scanners flatten the dynamic range and tonal range, dulls color, and blurs edge details.

i'd say it isn't too bad a scan, considering. The presence of the original is much different, because of its size and the sense of being able to walk into it a lot more than what is presented on a computer screen--and of course there are subtle details and physical evidences of the actual paint which are ignored from the digital image. All in all, however, the images here of the cupid piece are real decent.

Thanks, it was difficult for me to make the decision to break up the work into close shots like that but the details are so key to the overall piece i felt it was worth doing to get a sense of what's involved in the painting microcosmically.
