"Theta Vyrus", Oil on Canvas, 18" x 24", 2013This is a revisit of an old black and white drawing simply titled "Vyrus" which I created back sometime around the year 2000. I enjoyed using the essential framework of the drawing as the chassis for evolving the archetypes. There are many layers to the work. It can be read as an interpretation of a computer virus, which would be coherent. Deeper, though, is the full reality of its making as a psychological object, which touches more intimately into realms of pathalogical character, the nature of mind, and more. I hope you enjoy this image.

You've truly hit upon another psycho-spiritual archetype here which resounds with meaning, one that many would as soon as overlook. An overclocked left-hemisphere so transfixed by quantitative understanding as to render the very quality of its reality completely moot, overtaken and consumed by the sluggish demons of a misguided science.

I'm very happy you were able to see this new rendition of the Vyrus work, since you go way back with my images and can process the parallax of development between the old pencil work and this. Thanks for looking so deeply into it--properly created, my images should allow for generous reflection, at once and across time. This one of course, also works for the snapshot passerby too I suppose--multi-purposed. Good to see you back.
