Here we have Mata Nui from Generation 1 with Ekimu from Generation 2. I personally think Ekimu is suppose to be the Mata Nui of Generation 2, but there is some debate about that.Reasons why Ekimu could be the new Mata Nui
1. They both have Makuta for their brother in the respective stories who betrayed them.
2. They both were put into a deep sleep.
Reasons why Ekimu could not be the new Mata Nui
1. Ekimu is a Mask Maker, not a Great Spirit
2. Ekimu isn't really big.

I like to think of Ekimu as this universes's counterpart for Mata Nui. I feel the same way for Umarak as to possibly being Nihdiki's counterpart, since they are both creepy, green hunters who work for Makuta. His voice is similar, too, which is interesting. I mean, his name literally translates as "shadow hunter," which is extremely similar to title of Dark Hunter. Just my theory, though.

I've already concluded Ekimu to be the new Mata Nui. As for Umarak being the new Nihdiki, not a bad idea. I can certainly see the resemblance.

Sorry, I meant to say that I also like to consider Ekimu as this generation's version of Mata Nui.
Yeah, I just think it's an interesting concept. I don't know if it's intended, but that's how I like to think of his character. He and Nihdiki were also subjected to a monstrous transformation by Makuta (Makuta Nui = Umarak the Destroyer).
