Description
Since the appearance of Godzilla in 1984, Project Nautilus has made extensive observations on the megafauna or "kaiju" that have been appearing around the globe.Entry One: These five subjects have been categorized together due to the increased sightings of them compared to other kaiju. In general, they seem to stay more to themselves unless provoked (i.e. the various Godzilla attacks over the years). Whenever an Omega-Class kaiju appears on the Earth, it tends to be these six that usually show up to stop it.
Godzilla
Classification: Gojirasaurus Gigantis
Height: 80 meters
Length: 130 meters
Weight: 500 tons
Description: Usually the most aggressive and territorial of the five subjects, Godzilla first appeared in the South Pacific in 1954, attacking various shipping freighters and battalions. A nuclear test off the Marshall Islands managed to knock the beast into a sleep for thirty years, waking up in 1984 and filled with rage. Initial findings showed Godzilla to be a "radiovore", feeding on radiation wherever it can find it. In this case, it was a nuclear refinery and research center on Odo Island. Leaving it in ruins, it returned to the sea. Weeks went by, but the creature was finally discovered nearing the coast. It wasn't long before Godzilla had a run in with a fleet of JSDF battleships. The ferocity with which the beast attacked has no equal. Those that were close enough to witness the battle described it as "a few toy boats sailing through a hurricane". Shot after shot of artillery fire was launched at it, but they did no damage. Godzilla was able to tear through the fleet with ease, shredding solid steel with its claws and rock-like dorsal fins. Finishing the last ship off, it turned its hate on Tokyo. It rose out of Tokyo Bay and was met with a number of tanks and jet fighters. As with the ships, however, this was futile. Numbers of vehicles were demolished as Godzilla made his way through the city. Soon, Tokyo would be nothing but dust and flames. Godzilla thrashed, grab, bit, and whipped buildings taller than itself down. The JSDF was left with no other choice, and sent out special bombers to its location. Although overwhelming the beast with explosives, Godzilla revealed an unknown and surprising power: as its spines began to glow brightly with an intense light, Godzilla opened its jaws and blasted a beam of blue atomic fire at the bombers, quickly reducing them to ash. However, the battle and destruction caused seem to take its toll on Godzilla, as it began to lumber back into the sea. Godzilla disappeared for over a year, and would afterwards quickly turn up in unexpected locations. Sometimes a threat, sometimes a friend, the world has learned that it's best to leave the "King of the Monsters" to its own devices.
Abilities: Extraordinary endurance and resilience, undersea navigation (top speed: 200 knots), can emit an "atomic breath" from jaws (tends to use up a lot of Godzilla's energy)
Kong (II)
Classification: Megaprimatus Kong
Height: 70 meters
Weight: 350 tons
Description: After the 1933 incident with the first Kong species that humanity had seen, no one thought that another one would be found. In 1992, this was proven wrong. Farou Island, a body of land five miles east of the now-submerged Skull Island, was explored by a team of Nautilus researchers under the guise of a pharmaceutical company. Here, the team discovered new species that were many times larger than even the ones on Skull Island. While running into an octopus the size of the White House, researchers were saved by an ape seven times larger than the first Kong. Giving it the namesake of its predecessor, they used sedatives from the island's native Soma berries (a powerful narcotic) and attempted to haul the creature to the mainland. This proved futile, as Kong escaped and swam to Japan. It traversed the landscape until it made its way to Mount Fuji, where the beast decided to rest. Here, it was tracked down by a recently awoken Godzilla. Due to this, Nautilus believes that the two species had been predators or rivals of each other centuries ago. The two picked up their ancestors' feud and began to battle, ripping through the Japanese countryside and laying a small village to waste. Godzilla seemed to have the upper hand until Kong revealed its intelligence, using whatever was around it to fight off the lizard. After having a tree shoved down its throat, Godzilla decided to end the fight and shove Kong into a nearby pagoda. This caused the foundation underneath the castle to fall apart, and weakened the surrounding area. The ground crumbled under the beasts' feet as they grappled onto each other, causing the other to go flying off a cliff face and into the sea. No one is truly sure of who the victor was, but as both have appeared numerous times afterwards, it's safe to agree that the battle was a tie.
Abilities: Immense strength and endurance, high levels of intelligence, surprising amount of durability (was able to take several direct blasts of Godzilla's atomic breath).
Anguirus
Classification: Angilas Yamane
Length: 110 meters
Weight: 200 tons
Description: A year after Godzilla's assault on Tokyo, a team of Nautilus researchers helmed by Keohei Yamane discovered the body of a giant ankylosaur in an iceberg on a remote fishing island. Amazed by how intact the creature was, Yamane wanted the creature thawed out so they could study it. In a research facility outside of Osaka, Nautilus kept the creature under constant heat to melt the ice. It ended unfortunately for them, as the creature ended up awakening. Disoriented by its new surroundings, the now-named Anguirus broke out of the facility and began attacking Osaka in a state of fright. This attracted Godzilla, who Yamane assumed hunted Anguirus' species, and led to the two monsters rampaging through Osaka while trying to kill the other. Godzilla proved to be much more than Anguirus could handle, as he was eventually brought down and subdued. Something happened then that Yamane could not explain. As if giving Anguirus the gift of mercy, Godzilla went back to the sea and disappeared. It had let its prey live. This would prove beneficial later on, as Anguirus would end up helping Godzilla defeat many kaiju that threatened the planet. Anguirus was transported to a new facility in northern Japan, a vast expanse of land where it was able to roam without hurting others. The creature rarely left the facility and turned out to be one of the more gentle megafauna, only interacting with humans again as an ally and friend.
Abilities: Carapace covered with spine-like quills, sharp enough to cut through steel; has shown ability to roll up into ball
Rodan
Classification: Rodan Sahara
Height: 55 meters
Wingspan: 160 meters
Weight: 100 tons
Description: The small mining town of Kitamatsu (on the island of Kyushu) was disturbed in 1986 by the sudden arrival of man-sized insects (meganurons, Beta-Class macrofauna), which began taking away miners to somewhere under the mines. When Nautilus officials showed up to investigate, they discovered that the insects must have been ancient fly larva woken up by the increased activity of a nearby volcano. After moving through the mines to the area that these bugs were staying, they discovered an entire nest that were surrounding two dormant Rodan specimens. Charges were set in an attempt to kill the beasts, but this only helped awaken them. The two pteranodons busted through the mountainside and began soaring through the air, terrorizing the village and a nearby city. The JSDF quickly rushed an airstrike, but the attack proved to be a disaster when the fighters couldn't make a dent. Meanwhile, the volcano's activity increased: it was going to erupt. Nautilus and the JSDF formulated a strategy. They evacuated Kitamatsu and waited for the Rodans to go back and rest in the cavern. Once there, they launched missiles at the volcano, triggering an eruption and burying the two in magma. Eight years later, a giant pteranodon was spotted flying over the sea to the mainland. This turned out to be the offspring of the two Rodans on Kyushu. Less aggressive than its parents, Rodan pestered Japan more than terrorize. Although it caused some damage, it was only doing so to lure Godzilla to it. It got its wish, and the King of Monsters arrived to battle it. This fight was cut short when Mothra arrived to fight off King Ghidorah. The two ended up joining her and warded off the alien terror. After this, Rodan left the mainland and humbly stayed on the nearby islands, only coming close to hunt for surviving meganurons and whatever else it could find.
Abilities: Flight speed of Mach 1, razor sharp talons, can create hurricane-like winds
Mothra
Classification: Bombyx Infans
Length: 45 meters (Larva), 40 meters (Imago)
Wingspan: 120 meters
Weight: 80 tons (Larva), 100 tons (Imago)
Description: The kindest and most mysterious of the Alpha-Class kaiju, Mothra resides on Infant Island with a tribe of native worshippers. The outside world did not discover Mothra until 1991, when a team of researchers gathered by Nautilus and the Japanese government were sent to investigate reports of a real life "fountain of youth". What the team discovered was an island flourishing with life despite having been in the radius of bomb testing in the 1950's. After traversing through the island's strange megaflora, the team discovered a tribe of natives living deep in the jungle. They were then greeted by two women the size of children's dolls - the Shobojin. These mystics told the team their roles as guardians and prophets of Mothra, the protector of Infant Island. This was proven when the Shobojin revealed a blue egg the size of a house. The team left the island and published their findings, which caused global shock. Kaiju had long been proven to be real, but the mysticism surrounding Mothra was what surprised everyone. Unfortunately, this led to unsavory sorts wanting in on the discovery. The Red Bamboo, a terrorist organization specializing in megafauna exploitation, raided the island and stole the Mothra egg and Shobojin. This caused Nautilus agents to track down Red Bamboo members who had Mothra to a facility south of Hokkaido, where they attempted to take back the egg. While fighting, the two sides somehow managed to crack the egg, causing the infant Mothra to hatch and escape. It tore through Hokkaido and made its way to Tokyo, searching for the missing Shobojin. After making a cocoon onto the Tokyo Tower, Mothra rested for days while agents searched for the Shobojin. The JSDF decided they couldn't allow Mothra to come out of its metamorphosis and fired on the tower. This only agitated Mothra, who dug out of the cocoon to reveal its fully-developed form. She flew through the city, toppling buildings with hurricane-like gusts and throwing cars around like bugs. Eventually, the team found the Shobojin and rescued them, and the twins were able to finally calm down Mothra. They returned home to Infant Island and only came back to Japan when a crisis arose, such as King Ghidorah or even an angered Godzilla. Japan looks to Mothra as a true beacon of hope among the other, more destructive kaiju, and know that she will help protect them from any threat no matter the cost.
Abilities: Flying speeds near Mach 1, can create hurricane-like winds, charge up beams of energy from antennae (used very rarely), spreads noxious dust from wing scales (can disorient or stun foes)

Yeah, it'd have been really cool and a nice variation on the kaiju lineup instead of the original Three-Headed Monster characters.

Yeah, I tried a bit haha. It's mostly just looking into the information from the movies and reworking it to fit in my personal mythos.
