Description
As Pyrrha showed us last episode, some characters meet the same fate as their mythical/historical counterparts. That got me thinking, what if Cardin has a bigger role than we think going forward?
Somewhere down the line, the bad guys are winning. Salem's plans are in full force, and it looks like the kingdoms are going to fall. Of course, Cardin is not exactly a heroic person, and he comes to a similar conclusion as Roman did: why fight an enemy you know is going to win? So, he goes to Salem, attempting to give her some valuable item or information in exchange for being spared.ΒNow, why this? Well, as you probably know, Cardin Winchester is based on Henry Beaufort, the Cardinal of Winchester. According to myth, it is said that on his deathbed, a delirious Beaufort attempted to bargain with Death, offering the treasury of England in exchange for a longer life.Β
Cardin Winchester, Salem, and RWBY belong to Rooster Teeth and the late Monty Oum

I hope Cardin comes back, and is a very heroic type of person. Β He was a jerk, but I just think that he needs to grow up. Β He was fight the grim in volume 3.Β

also Henry Beaufort basically roasted Jeanne D'Arc
He could very well betray Jaune as a proof of his loyalty and turn him into Cinder for future roasting.
Then killed by the very Death he seeks

That does seem plausible.

I honestly wonder if the series would be worth sticking if it descends into such misery with no end in sight.
