"Dr. Umbreon’s experiment log:

I have continued my observations on the swimming cat. Their jubilant energy is pleasing to witness, I'd even go as far to say they are cute! I watched them in the pool for a while. It seemed their enjoyment was directly connected to the inflatables I had provided for them, so I decided to try something a little risky and found rather interesting results!

I lured them over to the side of the pool where I lay in wait. Once the cat arrived, I leant forward and gave him a reassuring smile. The valve of his swim ring was out of my reach, but that wouldn't be an issue, I'd just have to improvise. I unsheathed the claw on my index finger and held it up for the cat to see. Strangely, he didn't seem worried or scared, I swear I even saw him blushing!

I couldn't help but grin as I plunged my claw into the doomed pooltoy. I looked to my subject's face and saw not a frown, but a smile! He seemed to enjoy the damage I had dealt to his tube. I then withdrew my claw and heard a satisfying hiss from the ring as it lost air, but I also heard another sound of interest. The cat purred! Whatever it is I was doing; he was really happy about it.

My last action was to push the cat back away from the edge of the pool, ensuring he wouldn't be able to climb out before further observations. To my surprise, he made no effort to reduce the air loss from his ring, nor did he try to swim to the side and climb out. He also showed no signs of panic or stress, if anything he seemed more relaxed than earlier!

It is safe to say the cat is confident in his ability to swim without assistance from floatation devices. He also seems to enjoy having his inflatables popped and deflated, plus it looks like he enjoys being teased. This gives me an excellent idea for a future experiment, I'll make sure to get Ax31 to assist me with it!"
