Very dramatic.
The rocket must be bursting beyond the ship, illuminating it on the side we cannot see?

Great art! I wish I could draw something like that. Dark, icy yet impressive.

The eeriness of this piece is so profound. It's exquisite and captures I think the true essence of the Titanic on the night she sank during that bitterly-cold April night in 1912. It speaks to me on so many levels. A job well done!

Wow, thank you very much, glad to read this!
Indeed, I did my best to represent this tragedy as something both horrific and beautiful. In fact, I've been inspired by some of the survivors accounts; I remember reading that even when the ship was sinking, it was still a beautiful sight, but also scary, because they could see the portholes disappearing beneath the waterline.
Again, thanks a lot for your comment!

Aww, no problem! I enjoy your artwork actually and this piece just really spoke to me. It speaks volumes. It's so haunting.. yet so intrinsically beautiful in the horrific scene that is playing out. Thanks again for sharing your talent!

I've been an amateur Titanic historian since I first read Lord's "A Night To Remember" more years ago than I'd care to publicly admit, and I love this piece; you even got the starboard list in there (something Cameron overlooked or ignored).

Thank you very much, glad to read this from a Titanic enthusiast !!
I've been fascinated by the Titanic since I first watched James Cameron's movie when I was about 2 or 3 years old, so this movie will always have a special place in my heart, but I agree with you that some details weren't in this movie unfortunately, and even thought the sinking was incredibly well done, it always felt a bit "surreal" to me, and not very accurate.
I never had the chance to read the novel "A Night to Remember", but I recently watched the movie adaptation and I really loved it ! Even for its time, visuals effects are really well done and it was very interesting to watch this one !
As for the starboard list, well, it always seemed logical to me that the ship had this list during the sinking, because water was flooding from one side. I agree that James Cameron could have added this detail during the sinking part, but maybe he didn't because it may have been too complicated to make a starboard list to the movie set ?
