Here's my final assignment from AnimationMentor's advanced acting class. I like how it came out, though I know there are some areas that could be worked on some more. I had to move on though, cause Short Film Preproduction class starts tomorow!

Matching lips with drawings is SO difficult. You did so wonderfully! This really has a very big Disney feel and I love it.

You have some very nice poses going on here. Also I can really get a feal for teh character and I know how hard that is to achieve so I give you mad props.

Hey Mike, thanks for visiting my blog and for the mad props, lol! I'm glad you like my scene. I doubt I'll be able to animate this term though. Right now I'm doing pre-production on my AM short film and thats more work than I thought it would be. You guys can look forward to seeing some layout/rough blocking around December since that's what we're supposed to end class 5 with. Until then, I'll probably just post concept art and renders of the props and set.

Yeah pre production is a huge part of the process I have found that out the hard way many times. I defiantley look forward to seeing your short film.

Oooh, fun. ^^ But man, that sound byte is tough to hear. I had to watch it four or five times before I could understand all the dialogue.
OOh, does this mean I can be critical and stuff??
And I like the acting. It does convey the emotions really well. But for some reason, it kinda' feels like the charas aren't understanding their own dialogue. In other words, the guy is conveying his frustration and anger really well, but it doesn't look like he's conveying his irony well. .... .... .... I mean. Well. It's really easy for me to say that, but it's really hard to say what could be done to do it better. I mean, I probably wouldn't be able to do it. ._. Hm.
Oh, and maybe on the closeup of the girl she could look up at the guy again. ^_^

Sorry about the sound quality, I dont know anything about sound editing so I couldn't have fixed it. Lol, that semi-invis ball is Leo's reflection in the window. >_< I agree with you on not knowing how to sell Leo's irony. Once the Am site reopens (they're closed for between term maintinance(sp?)) I'll ask about it on the forums. I originally had the counselor glance up at Leo when she says "get a handle on things", but my mentor said to remove it. He said that making her look up at him will make it seem like she's concerned/cares about him. He said that in the beginning she's trying to be friendly but after he lunges at her she's like o_O...
I was going to "tear you a new one" anyway, else I'd be a bad friend.

... Well, maybe the lookup wasn't needed, but her expression doesn't really change much in that closeup. I mean, it's hard to see which word had emphasis. *shrug*
