Description EDIT: I re-rendered the scene with a different background and updated lighting. Hopefully this version is less distracting.

Here's the new shot I've been working on for the past two weeks. I finished it just in time for Siggraph. Sorry about repeating it. The video is only 6 seconds and the film category requires videos to be at least 10 seconds. Once I finish the rest of this scene I'll replace it with the full version. The whole thing is about 30 seconds long and I knew I wouldn't be able to have all of it ready for Siggraph, lol.

As usual, all comments and crits are highly appreciated! Hopefully this addition to my reel will help tip things in my favor during reel reviews.

Wow, thanks for the answer. I'm trying to rig a cat in Maya for my coursework. This is really giving me stick (causing me problems). Are you into that or is your specially animation?

elipse In reply to matt-bulls-stories [2011-03-19 00:35:49 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome. Lol, good luck with the cat rig. My knowledge of rigging is extremely basic. I hated rigging in school and avoiding it is one of the reasons my senior film was done in 2d.

Very nice. Modeling is very Pixar-like and nice coloring. You got a lot of talent, you can do both 2d and 3d animations.

elipse In reply to Wil-Perallon [2009-11-23 01:39:54 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I didn't model the character though. I'm not very good at modeling and definitely don't have the skill to model a character, lol.

Oh well good job to you and the one who modeled the character.

Thanks a bunch! Lol, hopefully Disney and Sony will agree with you. Are you interested in going to school to learn about animation?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sweetdogs In reply to elipse [2009-08-07 19:53:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes i'm interested, i love do animation, i really want do it So, i work always on sketches and it's a lot of work for me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

elipse In reply to Sweetdogs [2009-08-12 21:22:24 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry if sketching is a lot of work. No one ever said it was easy! It sounds like you're more interested in 2d animation than 3d. Have you looked into CalArts? There's a huge amount of CalArts grads at Disney.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sweetdogs In reply to elipse [2009-08-12 22:01:53 +0000 UTC]

Actually, i'm more interested by 3D animation. I don't have really the time to do sketches animations because i work on bases actually. No, i don't know CalARTs, but do you know the program Bleder? I'm a program to do animation, i have it on my computer, but i don't have start to do animations 3D with it .

elipse In reply to Sweetdogs [2009-08-13 14:32:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh ok. In that case, I highly recommend AnimationMentor.com. They're an online school and their program is fantastic. The quality of student work coming from there is phenomenal! You can check them out here: [link] I graduated from AM back in 2007 and highly recommend it for everyone who wants to study 3d animation. Plus is much less expensive than most other animation schools.

No, I don't have blender. I've heard of it but I've never used it before. Maya's the only 3d program I know how to use, lol. I've heard that they're all basically the same though. You can try checking out [link] . You can probably find some great Blender tutorials on some of the forums there.

Thank you for all, but i live in France and i want study animation here lol. , i think than AnimationMentor.com is a awesome site .

elipse In reply to Sweetdogs [2009-08-14 16:30:03 +0000 UTC]

No problem. AM is an online school so you can take classes there from any location you want. Goeblins ([link] ) is also a great school. I don't know much about it other than its in France, but the animation that comes out of it is top notch!

Sweetdogs In reply to elipse [2009-08-14 16:40:08 +0000 UTC]

Oh thank you And sure, i'll study the animation and today, i'll start many sketches for do it great . By the way, if you have the time, can you do something for me?

I want a little drawing about Alvin ((c) from the movie Alvin and The Chipmunks 2007) and her girlfriend Brittany ((c) from the new movie Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 : The Squeakuel, coming out the christmas day 2009) [link] are making a tigh hug

elipse In reply to Sweetdogs [2009-08-14 21:29:49 +0000 UTC]

You're quite welcome.

I can create an Alvin and Brittany drawing but I'd have to charge you for it. I'm still trying to make money for rent and am in desperate need of some commissions. A color drawing of Alvin and Brittany without a background would cost $31 ($23 for the drawing and $8 for the additional character). A black and white drawing without a background would be $12.

Wow very nice. The colors work well, the perspective is nice, and the animation is VERY smooth an believable. The squirrel actually looks like it's walking on the branch! When it jumps across will the thin branch wobble a little bit?

Great work so far!

(And hey, what's the mega secret with attaining a film account? I have a lot of legit film things to upload that are copyright free but dA never responded to my request!)
