Ah, a clever combination. Admittedly, the Ed half of things doesn't quite translate to black-and-white (I might've given her Ed's more distinctive red overcoat), but you still get a good sense of it even so, and the picture itself is very well done. I second 's love of the perspective, and your detailing work continues to impress all over. ^_^

I kept thinking maybe I should ink in the black color, but I've never done that before and wasn't sure what it should look like, so I left it alone. For whatever reason, though, adding the red coat just never occurred to me! I think with trying to get the perspective right, I just didn't want to any extra layers to think about. It probably would have have made it look more distinctively Ed, although I also keep envisioning a picture from one of the FMA art books that I think this would have looked too much like if I'd included the coat.

Yeah, I can see how adding the coat would make the perspective even trickier to pull off, so I can sympathize with letting it go. I do think inking in the blacks of the shirt might've still been a good idea, though, but as I said, it's still a really good pic overall, so it's not a huge concern. ^_^

Yes, yes you do. My recommendation is to watch the first 3 eps of the original series, then read the manga or watch Brotherhood. Unless you plan on watching everything!

I've heard the original FMA series isn't that good, particularly near the end. Is that true? I've only seen the first 2 episodes, and that was years ago.

I read the manga first, so no, nothing wrong with the order! I just think the original series did a better job with the opening scene, the music, and introducing their mother in ep 3.
The original series isn't terrible towards the end, but it could have been better. It has more gratuitous violence and dismemberment than a series with that much death needs, there are some inconsistencies in the plot, and the movie's just too depressing an ending. And there's the Archernator >_< Just dumb (look up the character Archer if you really care). But it's still pretty good even if it doesn't entirely live up to the original story.
