Description
This is a weapon that one of my main characters will have. I was playing around with the idea of a super-compact weapon, but struggled with the grip of the gun. So the solution here is that the gun actually lacks a grip entirely. This is only possible because psychic attacks don't have any recoil. Think of this weapon as a hollow metal shell with a bunch of magnifying lenses inside.Related content

Only problem with the no-grip design that I can see is that you'd be holding the barrel and chamber of the gun, and therefore would only be able to aim by sighting down your arm, thus making the sights on the gun pretty much useless

Your point is very valid, but this is a psychic weapon, meaning the shot can be curved with your mind. The gun isn't necessarily a weapon in itself, but rather a tool to collect and release the energy all in one place (for those incapable of doing it themselves).

this reminds me of the "mana gun" in a japanese comic called "witch hunter"...except it looked like a standard Colt 45.

This is actually not as supercompact as you think... Compare it to the lipstick gun, AKA "Kiss of Death"
