Description Seasons

In Wintertime, when snow was thick, I saw
light in the cold. I saw it when the night
had taken over day. By his pure Law,
he did pledge to become my loyal knight.
Many falls we went through after his pledge.
A brief respite came in the fair springtime.
His pledge hidden, I came to the old ledge
with my fears dead. Then, starting a new time,
he told others. God was very well pleased,
for my knight and I were fated to last.
Near Spring he gave me an ancient laurelled
ring won from fate; our loneliness now past.
We became one in the hands of May. Ring
on my finger for four years, a grand thing.
