Rich crimson petals

Thick sharp thorns
One petal for every love
One thorn for every parting
This rose is mine
This rose is yours
One less thorn
Than petal it has
So true love will come

What form of poetry was this? It's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't seem to nab it! >.<
This was yet another true poem that, again, really spoke to me. Your poetry seems to do that a lot. And this one is true too, and seems to give an important message out for those of us who have had our hearts broken or suffered a break up.
It's too bad that in my case it doesn't apply in quite the same manner.
