Waaah finnaly finished. I never thought it would take me so much time to complete this drawing TAT;;; I'll probably re-use some concept of this picture in the future, because even if I really like it, it's hard to see the initial idea...I hope you still like the result !

This picture for some reason reminds me of a David Bowie song. But this is great I like the color the shapes and the creativity that comes along with this painting. I also love the girl in the clouds. I also love what you did with the sweeping motion you put with the bird. Over all your vision was probably brought to life in this work of art, you have great originality. You have a wonderful technique, how ever this paint didn't impact we the way I would have liked it. But over all great job and keep it up!

First of all, the first time i saw this it was like a....wow i felt so happy, its like I'm swirling like the whale in the sky.
2nd, the colors are absolutely brillant. It brought that happiness and dreamy feeling like you entered a world where god has created the most beautiful thing you could ever imagine.
The clouds look soft and cottony, the yellows and the blues were combined very well.
People who saw this cannot ever forget this brillant work of yours.
Third, i love the way it looks realistic, even from afar just using simple colors.
Everything was perfect, like i just entered Heaven.
Simple colors, balanced, and a very good job on creating this magnificent masterpiece!

Very strong usage of color flow and almost gentle dreamy like substance to the overall composition. However, structure wise I believe the piece falls short on several levels. The first regards the left side having almost no purpose and throws the balance of the image off focus. One point perspective feels wasted. My eyes are flowing to the vanishing point but nothing is there. No feeling of curiosity as to WHAT could be over there. Just bright light implying something but overall nothing to give any feeling of temptation. Hues used near the deer come off as extremely flat compared to the rest of the clouds. The body could use more reflections from the clouds.
Moving on to the imagery, the narwhal-esque figure has a beautiful flow and lacks the rigidness often seen in drawing creatures. There is a sense of volume expressed on the stomach but not fully well placed. Other parts of the narwhal remain flat, with usage of strong contour line only contributing more to an otherwise volumetric figure. The stars on the body feel too "patternly" and gives an artificial feel to an otherwise beautiful surrealism.
The figure is beautifully portrayed as having a dreamy mood to it. The contours really give it a feeling of other worldliness and child like curiousity. Still her(?) shoes come off as very flat, and hips disproportionately large for her body (but this may still be correct. Her book follows too strict of a one point perspective , and she appears to be missing a wing (unless she is suppose to have one wing and/or I am blind). The wing-like item on her lower back feels unnatural and lacks some light logic.
Lastly are the deer. I do not believe deer run close to what is portrayed in the upper right. The feeling feels more as if dogs are running into... something. Some deer are done fine, but many come off as flat and pasted on, with others coming off as overall too bright.None of the deer feel particularly making contact with the ground they run on.
Nonetheless, even though I may come off as negative, I do really enjoy this piece you have composed. I believe it does express the intention, and just needs a little bit more polishing up here and there to really bring it to the next level.

Looking at this right away brings thoughts of childhood bedtime and surrealism.
I'm not sure what is trying to be conveyed as a message here but I am sure that this was well planned out. Everything that is drawn realistically is easily identifiable. There is obviously a whale, a nebulous foreground and background, the night sky in the upper right, and so on. What ever idea was behind this has easily recognized objects in it.
The originality is amazing. We have all seen some type of animal related to sheep or clouds when depicting dreams. However, I would never associate a narwhal whale with dreams. Neither would I think of a high dynamic range of lights and darks with a dream. Also, I usually only think of dream art that was either all bright or all dark in its lighting.
The technique is also excellent. I'm not sure what medium was used but whatever it was, this artwork came out great in the end.
The impact is considerable. When I first looked at this, my eyes were drawn to the whale and then the deer-like animals in the upper right. However, the two parts kind of conflict with each other because they are almost right next to each other but go in opposite directions in my eyes.
Overall, this piece is well executed.

This a very captivating piece of art! I love your very daring use of color and the spacial awareness in the composition. There is a great deal of detail but its lack of stark reality invites the viewer to re-create the work for themselves. I think your use of color to create depth is very skilled, it adds to the several perspectives within the visual space. The very detailed fish, I think is very symbolic to me of the "leap of faith" we sometimes need to take in life to really discover the magic of life. Very well done! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

Astounding image!
I really love how you have put down many layers of colour into this abstract expression. I have to hand it to you, you have an impressive technique and it is just a deeply immersive image. You can't stop thinking about the world or mental situation it's trying to portrait, I could even say that the complete message in this image is not completely visible, that would be a minor flaw that comes into my mind at the moment.
You could also work a little bit in the use of space, because it feels sort of bulky in the central section of the image, but rather empty on the frame; adding some minor details here and there could help in this, without drawing so much attention from the main display.
Finally, I have to say that, even if I am mesmerized by this, I still feel there is some sort of lacking, some details that could be improved even more. All of this, if taken care of, could lead into an even more impressive work, because this IS already great, it could only get better with the right touch.
Thumbs up, great work and keep it up, the sky is the limit e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="

There are a few things that I love about this.. the transitioning, brilliant mix of color and the fantasy-like-vibe it gives off. It's almost like a bedtime story, you can't help but project it as a mind-movie as you follow along with the details (vision & technique). You don't come by stuff like this easily, it takes a wide range of imagination to create a mixture of so many ideas (originality). The drawing makes you want to pinpoint everything, the whale's wings, the galloping group of deer, and the person who seems to be telling the story (impact). It's shouting "IMAGINE"

Okay first of all I want to say how amazing this is and how captivating it is, I love your use of colours, and the shading is great. I also love the use of both day and night in this picture.
The only thing for me is that it is a very busy picture and there is a lot going on in a very tight space and although I love the originality of it I think there might be just that little bit to much going on for one picture.
I will say however that this is a very amazing piece of art work, it could just do with being brought down a little bit, for me anyway.
But good job.

first of all i would like to appreciate your imagination...it's really hard to "capsulize" your imagination to an artwork...and base to what i see i think you made it. great use of color combinations! you have, i think, almost perfect balance of colors here the colors do not overpower the image being shown,it's a good job.
you have incorporate alot of things in your artwork, showing a wide vast of imagination before us. i think you should be sensitive to what should be the main focus of the artwork....avoid anything that could distract the looker's attention for example, the woman here divides the attention of the lookers to the whale(is the woman or the whale that should get more attention to?)but the group of leaping deer over the clouds, intensifies whale at the center...that's my artistic perception. nonetheless great job

First of all, thanks fir putting the critique option here. The vision tin order to create this is powerful and moving. This is why I score the impact and vision a 5 star. Although the originalty isn't that great, because there is a lot of sky-whale Indian type art. (i think it looks that way) The technique was good, as far as the lambs skipping on the clouds. The whale is very interesting with the wings and dragons's tale and such. It's very creative and inspiring and makes me what to go into the clouds at night. Overall, Nice job.

First of all this is fantastic and very hard to Critique, However I'll try to do my best. First off the clouds are fantastic. Not only the colors themselves but also the fact that it truly looks like the sun is peaking through from the left. Which is shining perfectly on the girls face, Now on to the creature to the left. Honestly he's fantastic, and the colors are breath taking. It's like the creature is the night and is meshing the evening sky with the night, as if saying it's our time to play. And the alpacas, (I think they're alpacas) are adorable. They look how they're suppose to look and the shadows fit rather well.
Now that I have the pro's out of the way, now comes the cons. The only things I see that could be fixed is, the wings of the creature (going toward the lighter pastel portion of the image)look a little pointy. And the white signature on the right hand side is a little distracting from the piece. Other than that, It's perfect.

My English teacher says it's deer. The same with sheep. If you see a flock of deer, you don't say a flock of deers. Also if you type it on Word or any program with spell check, deers will appear incorrect.
Not that it's a big deal, but there you go.

(This is my first critique, so hope it's alright!) I have to say that this is wonderful. The technique is brilliant and visible to see. Your clouds are beautifully done. I love the colours used in this, its such a lovely thing to look at, with the softer colours in the middle and getting darker and broader as it goes out. It's very original, I haven't see anything like it. The feature of piece gives such an impact, yet the background holds its own, yet doesn't overshadow it. You should be extremely proud to produce wonderful work such as this. It's so simple in it's idea yet is so exquisite in it's execution. Well done!

Allow me to say first that this piece is absolutely gorgeous and hard to critique, but I thought I would share a few thoughts.
While the amont of detail you put into it is striking, the whale seems a little "busy" to me. Between the horn, the antlers, the whiskers and the wings I'm not sure where I should be looking, and it took me a while to notice that another character was riding it. Perhaps some more defined lining like you had with the deer, and less textured coloration?
On the whale's back the color change between light and dark strikes me as a little odd (that is, I think more of the back should be in shade like the head) considering that the light appears to be coming from the top-left corner...
Also, the current depth perception makes it appear to me that the whale and the person riding it are miniature (in comparison to the character sitting out front and the deer), but that may have been your intension.
With that all said, you are a master of color. I could stare at these clouds all day e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

A wildflower of the silencing kind, fills the space with a voice so the ones who can see, can finally open their mind
A world of a mystery is a way, as the grand elixerous whale takes a plummet upside down to tell us that it has no weight.
The keeper of the clouds holds a book to record what she sees so she can tell others to scream out aloud
Its time to bring the unleashing tensions between people, so we can eventually withhold against all the evil
Red and blue
the clouds that are shot up in those a hue
Join us to sail between a world where the ride itself will keep us stuck in an upside down prismatic glue

Aller, je me lance ^^
" width="15" height="15" alt="
