Haha, definitely not an accurate representation of life! I don't like how Hollywood glamourizes and categorizes everything to a certain group of people, like all artsy people are ex-hippy liberals, every cowboy has a drawl, bookworms are nerds, etc. etc. But back to your point--you're right that actors/actresses in the majority of black and white films are smoking something or another!

I know ex-hippy liberals...
I'm sooooo opposite. Gracious. I'm not a nerd either and I'm sort of a bookworm.
I just find it slightly amusing. What movie was that? ...about diamonds...it was a newer movie about an older subject. Anyway, same deal.

Oh, me too, totally! I cannot understand the liberal mindset, I can sometimes see the "live and let live" aspect to certain things, but other things...I guess my raising-up had something to do with that! Hmm, I can't quite recall the name of the movie you're talking about but it does ring a bell....

I definitely agree. Most of those things I really just can't believe. I think one of my most major views that I can't believe the liberal standpoint is on abortion...that's so controversial but I really don't see how it can be
what can be so hard to understand?

Ugh, I can't understand it either! Then they retort, "well, you've never been through it"--well, it shouldn't happen either way, and even if it did, us conservatives wouldn't "resort" to abortion It's just a sin, and I think it needs to be nipped in the bud--i.e. kids and irresponsible adults shouldn't be getting pregnant in the first place. If anything, like my father always told me, it's all rooted in sin and that they choose ignorance and self-interest over being aware and responsible for your actions. It is a real shame, really

ayyy goodness. And yes. I agree. Besides the fact that it's not about you. If it was about you, whether you got raped, were careless, or whatever it was, then sure it would be fine. But there is no way you can scientifically prove you're not killing something when you have an abortion. Doctors know that. I know some lie, but it's obvious, it has a heartbeat at how many weeks? It's really disgusting I think. I mean if the kid gives you problems when it's going to puberty or college why don't you just get rid of it then?
sorry.

Exactly! No need to apologise there
When I became pregnant, I found out a whole lot of things about the stages of the baby in the womb, like when their first heart beat occurs around the 5th week of conception (hardly a month after!)...and the neural tubes develop first thing too, the cornerstones for the spine, brain and neural system. It is so amazing, how quickly everything forms!! People's ignorance can be so heartbreaking though
Speaking of "getting rid of them" during puberty and whatnot--I just recently heard a story where this state (I think it was....CO? One of those mountain states i believe) finally changed their "child dropoff" age limit to only newborns...because people were dropping off children/teens of all ages in front of hospitals and fire stations..!! Unbelievable!

I wasn't sure of the exact time, I just can' timagine how anyone could possibly believe that it isn't a baby. The ignorance really is heartbreaking. So many people's lives have been ruined because of it too... and not just the babies' I mean the parents'.
What?!? I can't ...oohh my word. Wow. I hadn't heard that and I had no idea tha twas even legal. Some of the things I hear are just so appaling they are almost unbelievable.

Beautiful woman, great actress, and brilliant scientist. Three things rarely seen in one person. She was a truly amazing woman. You've captured her wonderfully.

Thank you very much! You'll be seeing more of these types of paintings from me soon! I did not know she was a scientist, I'll have to look into her biography! She is definitely, in my opinion, in the top three of the most beautiful actress list! You don't see many brunettes with green eyes, that's for sure!

Audrey Hepburn sits at the top of my list. Who's at the top of yours?

ellastasia In reply to parliamentFunk [2008-10-26 03:49:12 +0000 UTC]
The top three's a tough one, I think I'd have to put Hedy Lamarr as number one, her allure is really...alluring, for lack of better words! Audrey Hepburn's definitely number two, she's got the allure but in a more adorable sense. Third spot's a toughy, I'd have to say either Hayworth, Veronica Lake or Jane Russell. Who has the number two and three spot on your list?

parliamentFunk In reply to ellastasia [2008-10-26 10:36:57 +0000 UTC]
1. Audrey Hepburn
2. Bette Davis
3. Judy Garland (mainly cause I love her voice)
How about men? For me it's:
1. Cary Grant
2. Jimmy Stewart
3. Humphrey Bogart

I can't really see the appeal with Bette Davis...sometimes she looks absolutely gorgeous, but other times, she doesn't really appear too attractive. Well, that's just me, I like consistency.
Cary Grant you say?? He is my absolute favourite, too!! The charm, the smirk, the eyes..
Haha, well yes, he's the first on my list, too. Second would probably be Fred Astaire and/or Peter Sellers, and third is either Yul Brynner or Omar Sharif
Or David Niven. Yes, I'm quite indecisive.

That's what gets me about her though! Sometimes they're so sultry, and then other times they're so big and bright-eyed. Well, I guess it's just a preference thing!
