Thanks! No, I wish, I haven't had a chance to work on the blender grass yet. I bought this at Renderosity, it is called Realistic Grass and it is awesome! After i bought that I kind of put the Blender grass further down on my list lol! The trees are Lisa's Botanicals, got them in the big Daz sale!

Your welcome sweetie! Oh wow, did you have to render the grass then? It does look very real! Uh oh! haha That's too funny! I hear you though. I had a hard time getting my brain wrapped around Blender. I love Lisa's Botanicals! She really does an awesome job! Good for you! Sales are always a good thing! weeeeeee!

Yep, this grass was rendered by itself in Lux and each tree was done alone also. That saved me render time. I also rendered this grass on glossy but it took forever so I am rendering some new grass on matte to see if it looks ok that way. It saves time. But anyway I do have this grass to re use if I need to and this was only about 2/3 of it. There is actually a lot more in my original grass render.

Is it an actual model? Or is it on a flat plane?? It looks really good!! I bet that does save you a lot of time rendering each piece separately. I get so impatient with those really loooong renders! hehe How did your horse come out with the matte setting?? It would be interesting to see the two of them side by side to see how the different settings render.

When I am done with all these different versions I will put them in my stash so you can see them and compare the settings. So far I think the horse looks great on the matte setting and it's not worth the extra render time to render him on velvet. The grass looks better on glossy I think but I'm not done. The matte is looking a little flat but maybe some tweaking in PS and it will still be as good.

The grass is actually 3d grass because it's poking out of the horses foot ha ha, but it's easy to take that out in PS.

OK, sounds good! I would like to see the differences and compare. Oh good, and that setting is a shorter render too right? The grass has a flat surface so that's probably why it looks better with the glossy setting. Oh geez, I bet that raises the render time a lot with all those individual blades of grass! Wow, that's a really nice product! Ooops, haha Yep, thanks god for PS! It's so easy to fix all those annoying little things that occur in our renders. haha
