Description (2007) 9"x12" Pencil on Paper

Commission for
She asked for a Hermione/Lucius pairing with a nice landscape setting. So I decided on a gown up Hermione who had re-joined Hogwarts as a teacher and a post-war Lucius who was trying to get is new bearings after the demise of Voldemort and the pureblood faction.

Of course the quote for the picture is from Ron's comment regarding Victor Krum. I have no idea what kind of reaction this scene would get from him. But obviously Cookshanks is cool with it. If his mistress can play with snakes, so can he...

lol, ron would probably go really red, then start steaming at the ears, then turn into a kettle!!! maaan, like every character has a cruch on hermoine (lol, ill bet mcgonagal (cant spell her last name) has one on her too...LOL)

I wish I could give this a double fave... I got total butterflies in my stomach at the sight of this masterpiece... Hermione and Lucius is so wrong, but even more fun than Hermione/Draco. I think I love both of them.

Although the pairing doesn't do much for me (Hermione being the obvious and easy solution for anyone who wants a straight pairing) I can't help enjoying this pic, the background, the pose, the composition.
It looks so retro, as if from the '40s. They could even be Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier in front of Manderley from Hitchock's 'Rebecca'.

'Slimily polite'??? Is that polite?!!! When he adresses Arthur he resents him and tells him that now Arthur mingles with muggles. Is that polite?
That scene is pure genious!!! It's not just the introduction of a certain mister Lucius Malfoy, it's amazing to see that everybody in the scene simply hates him (and the viewers are supposed to do that too), but he has this attitude, this ease and elegance that you can't help being entranced, especially when the camera moves from goofy-faced Arthur to coldly gorgeous Lucius. It's this visual contradiction that makes him shine even more.

Oh yes, that's the perfect way to describe his grand entrance in COS! And I think a lot has to do with contrasting him with Arthur and that whole gaggle of fire-place sooty kids...

Fire-place sooty kids, I had never thought of that. They're dirty and he is sparkling clean, his hair is impeccable.
(Ah, damn, I'm sure now that Rowling never intended to make him so likeable. There are some greek kids in here -boys and girls- who simply can't stand the HP villains - are they blind?!! )
