Description At last, it's finally up! I've been procrastinating for too long so here's a few of the colours that my Vaskal species comes in. Most exhibit some striping or banding - usually on the ears and tail but often travelling along the spine and down the legs too. Spotted patternation is common too - normally as 'rosettes' like that of a leopard rather than dapples (I fail at drawing spots DX)
'Roan' is a fairly normal colour as well with the front half of the body generally being darker than the rest.

All the colours have names in the Narran tongue but I haven't thought of them yet so err...

Like many other creatures they have colour modifying genes so once I get off my arse and start working on it, I'll have another sheet up with some of the alternative and more unusual colours they come in!

The Vaskal in the ref is of the 'modern' type rather than the stockier, hairier more traditional built one that I'm sculpting. Just in case you thought I was making them up as I went along. XD

Vaskal are (C) to me so absolutely no stealing!

I love the color variations! This'll definitely help with the drawing I'm doing. I'm glad their spots are more leopard-esque, since that was my plan from the beginning.

The lineart's almost done, but I'm not sure when I'll finish coloring it- if I ever will! I've got finals next week and then I'll be in New Orleans for a week after that to do some volunteer work (wetlands restoration- yay!). I've got so many half-finished project right now! I'll probably end up working on them on the bus ride down and during any free time we might have down there.

Ooh, I love the one in the top right, but they're all fabulous! The amount of thought you put into these guys is fascinating

Cheers! The top row are my favourites too but I think the one on the bottom left will be the colour I paint my sculpture.
I've got loads of ideas (some bridle designs will be up in a couple of minutes) but somehow I just can't get the colours to look non equine which is bugging me a bit but never mind! XD
