Description Still seriously not my name, seriously. This is from the Homestuck universe (see www.mspaintadventures.com), which I appropriated for a WMP skin just because.

If it doesn't make sense to you, read the comic!
Feedback welcome as well as suggestions, all work by me, initial graphic by Andrew Hussie.

Should work with most WMP versions.

===

I wanted to do a sort of machinery themed WMP skin for a while now. I'm pleased to have been able to finally have an excuse for one!

This one was kind of tricky. I didn't want to make it hard to use like SOLARE, which people said was too tricky to work out, but I didn't want to mess up the original graphic with UI clutter either.

I think I reached a good balance here with this!

For reference, the Beat Mesa is supposed to be a giant record on top of some sort of floating clockwork platform.
Pretty strange, but hey.

===

To install:
Unzip and put the .wmz file in a safe place, like where you would plan to keep all of your WMP skins (tip: the system stores them at C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Skins). You don't want to shift it later.

Then run the file. It's a .wmz, which is a fancy way for saying a zip file containing all the stuff the skin is made of plus a script to pull it all together.
Don't trust me? Rename it to a .zip and see for yourself! I'm serious!

Anyway, run the .wmz file and WMP will prompt you to install and you're done.

===

To uninstall, change to a different WMP skin, and then delete the .wmz file. Make sure to change skin first!!!

===

All work by me. This one was pretty damn hard. Lots of work. Still, happy to have it done.

This one actually makes a whole lot of sense to be made into a music player.

I know, right!?

Still, it took a while to think of how to implement it.
If you have any ideas for other ones, i'd be happy to do 'em.

Well, do you have a Trollian version yet? That's be a neat one to go with, since I know you did a Pesterchum one. Idk what you'd use as for them, but there should be Midnight Crew and Felt ones.

Uhhhhh, one of Dave's Head? Where the controls could be on his sunglasses? Idk, that would be weird.

It would have been nice if the scratch would depict the volume instead of the lighty-party-thingy-thing...

I couldn't think of how to do it without making the punishment for missing it having to go back a track. I'll look into it, but I can't quite imagine how to solve that yet.

Holy crap, man.

Oh man, that's awesome! Is there anyway it would work with Winamp or no? o:

Nope. I gave Winamp a go and it's miles harder than making for WMP. :S

Thank you!

I really wish I could make winamp skins, and part of me says it's possible since there is a converter which converts Winamp skins to WMP, but for the life of me their XML setup and .maki files boggle me.

Winamp is a free Windows Media Player alternative. I find it a bit spammy, but a lot of people swear by it.
