Description Leon Redbeard takes a strike at one of the many elf assassins following him and the Stonekeeper in book two!

Leon has got to be one of my most favourite characters in the Amulet graphic novel series created by the talented Kazu Kibuishi and his team. It is also published by the well known children's book publishers Scholastic.

I really enjoyed reliving this scene, Kazu's awesome at action sequences. These dramatic sequences in the series keep you on the edge of your seat. He adds an interesting dynamic pacing to the story from time to time which is fantastic for comic readers like myself.

I met up with Mr. Kibuishi very briefly at Comic Con and he kindly autographed something for me even when I explained to him that I didn't bring my books with me for the holiday to Canada and United States (I wanted to keep my luggage light for the long journey). Nevertheless he appreciated the compliment I gave him and he just picked up one of those brilliant promo postcards of the Amulet series and drew something on it - who would have guessed that he drew my favourite character?

This one's for your Mr. Kibuishi, thank you for creating such an epic series and I thank you also for allowing myself to practice my newfound colouring skills inspired from Genzonman. Hope you guys like it!

Oh and also! Be sure to get his latest book - 'The Last Council', don't miss it!

The next one's are even better! I remember when I had only read the first one. I found amulet at the public library. but the second book wasn't there. so I had to wait. I almost forgot about the book until one day (Not too long ago) I saw the 2,3,4 books. and I was like "OH MY GAWD! IT'S THE NEXT BOOKS MUST READ!!!" so yeah, now I'm obsessed with the series!

It may be just me but there's something about that elf assassin at the back that put's me off a little. it just looks like it has little muscle in its legs and arms and looks rubbery. the lighting in this picture is very overpowering but the action scene is not bad. I think the giant sword swipes covers this Leon character a bit too much.

Elson, I always wondered something. What's your take books that show crude raw reality? I mean the ones that aren't your typicals "Yay powah of friendship! we wins it!" like Fairy Tail or One Piece and so many others. More something along the line of Game of Thrones (from Song of Ice and Fire series), I mean you said you read Vagabond, which is something along that line, but to me it was just too much emo for my taste and I ain't too keen on Japan Edo-period themed stories.

Which is why I decided to make my seires somewhere aground that, because the "powah of friendship" themed stories are too repetative.

Speaking of which, have you read/watched Game of Thornes and what's your thought about it?
And along what line will Ashworth be going?

The story direction to Cursed Wombat hasn't been decided yet but yes I agree with your idea that the 'power of friendship' theme has been rebooted too many times.

I'm going to aim for something more unique in my next graphic novel project. Got plenty of planning to go before I take off with it at full pelt.

Never heard of GoT. Also my opinion on real physics and historical manga is a positive one, Vagabond is no exception.

Wait seriously?! Never seen or read any work of George R.R. Martin?
[link] Song of Fire and Ice is one of the greatest works ever done, probably better than Lord of the Rings, and the TV adoptation is even better than movies, especially because it allowed him to portray mature content, sex and stuff.

The Game of Thrones is just the 1st season (or aka the 1st book) out of 6 books, with 7th and probably last book being written.
If you're not too keen on reading (lemme tell you that those are some bigass books), you can always watch the TV adobtation, spanning about 10 episodes, which are quite satisfying. Who knows, you mite get a revelation the way I did to decide how to write down my story, maybe it'll help you achieve it as well.
