Description My own way of doing hair. If you have any questions then feel free to ask! When choosing some of the more lighter colours, make sure it is gradually getting more saturated. Really saturated colours around light makes it look a little more glossy and colourful.

EDIT: I am reuploading this to my new account! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me ^.^ tahlrana.deviantart.com

I use paint tool sai and my brush opacity has a minimum of 80% and I apply pressure the more opaque I want it ( the beauty of paint tool sai)

This hair tutorial helped me out a lot when I was creating my first human face on digital art. However, being new to FireAlpaca, I accidentally deleted the picture. Thank you for creating this!

Well SAI is to be paid for unless you're going for a pirated version. Otherwise, Google is your best friend.Β

which brush you use please ?

Here I used the round bristle brush in Sai, but there are similar ones in photoshop if that's what you're using.

It looks very simple. Hopefully it is. :/

Elsy123 In reply to aevrynn [2014-07-21 01:40:07 +0000 UTC]

It works a lot easier if used in Sai. I found Photoshop doesn't give you the same effect with blending and painting.

And I have neither... not really. Oh well.

What are you using?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aevrynn In reply to Elsy123 [2014-07-28 05:47:14 +0000 UTC]

ArtRage. It's made to replicate traditional art, so it doesn't have that many tools for actual digital art... or then I just don't know how to use the damn program.

Do you use a specific brush for painting? And how do you blend? Great tutorial by the way. Thank you for posting it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elsy123 In reply to ROGUEKELSEY [2013-12-24 21:56:04 +0000 UTC]

Ah thanks! I usually use a round bristle brush of some sorts. Be mindful this is on Sai too. The key to blending is pressure sensitivity on your pen tablet and colour picking. ^^

Nooby2D [2013-09-09 15:07:22 +0000 UTC]

Did you use multiple layers when you colored the hair?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elsy123 In reply to Nooby2D [2013-09-11 16:16:47 +0000 UTC]

Not usually. If you use seperate layers you can't blend the colours as well so I do my hair on one layer. On rare occasions I have two layers, one for a base colour blocked in, and the second on top for all my highlights and shading (Just general painting)

Amazing tutorial! What kind of Tools do you use?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elsy123 In reply to Namtero [2013-06-03 02:52:03 +0000 UTC]

Mainly the brush tool in Paint Tool Sai. I try not to use the water tool because it makes it really blurry and there's really no texture to it that way. With the hair I use a rough brush so it gives the slightly illusion of strands. ^^

It's funny how before when I couldn't afford Photoshop everyone used it. Now, I bought photoshop so now everyone uses SAI. Go figure, right?
