Been working on this on-and-off since the assignment was given- I had a blast designing it! As much as I would have loved to protect Aedros more, he's a character who values strategy and precision over going into a conflict head-first. He's also more speed-oriented, and too much armor and leather would only hinder his agility. But I imagine the real reason would be that Aedros would refuse to use more than what he thought he needed so it could be used to make armor for others instead.
he might look pretty brave here but really, Aedros is terrified of going into battle since he's never been in any kind of violent altercation before. He's never taken a cat's life, either, and that's probably more terrifying a concept to him than dying. So he probably won't be killing anyone when the battle comes, but he sure as hell will do his best to disable them so they can't cause any further harm to his comrades.
