10 000 kilometers away, a squadmate's drive pulses. This is consistent with Flash ( www.deviantart.com/eluqqa/art/…) in terms of flash brightness (adjusted for distance) and camera settings.

I spent some time trying to figure out how bright these drives would be and what distances they might be visible from. Best guess estimates: As bright as the sun from 2.3 km, as bright as Polaris from 19 light seconds, and naked eye visible out to 0.24 AU!
