I'm just a bit worried about how she's lifting the weight... Other than that, this is really good! And I can't stop looking the boots she has, they are really pretty

www.youtube.com/watch?feature=… You shouldn't be doing much of anything with your elbows Oo, It's actually using the momentum of your body and as the bar goes up, you go under the bar.Β

What are you worried about regarding how she is lifting?

BlindSightArt In reply to ElysianImagery [2014-03-16 03:19:14 +0000 UTC]

As said below, is because it looks odd to me, mainly because I never seen somebody lift a weight like that (But I don't go to the gym~ I prefer home training, so I might be a bit naΓ―ve about how it is actually done [correct me if that doesn't make sense [[the use of naΓ―ve]] ). It might also be that it is post-lift, and she is just holding it there to lift it again V:

-I'm sorry anyways for stating something of which I'm not totally experienced at.

^
This.
I'm not somebody who goes to gym often (I train at home... More comfortable), but I never saw somebody lifting like that~ Tho, it might be also that this is post-lift, after she reached the top and she's pretty much just holding it there, but for me at least, it looks rather odd

i've hurt my knee*

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

ZombieHun In reply to BlindSightArt [2014-03-16 03:15:01 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i never thought it healthy to hypo extend your joints like that. i've heard my knee doing something similar on a leg press (not knowing i was doing it wrong). I did'nt think you were supposed to go beyond the 90 degree angle.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlindSightArt In reply to ZombieHun [2014-03-16 03:21:10 +0000 UTC]

And I didn't know that either until you just said it!
I will keep that in mind.
Thanks!

Also... poor knee Has it gotten better?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZombieHun In reply to BlindSightArt [2014-03-16 03:30:26 +0000 UTC]

no, its not 100%. it'll go through phases were I have to wear a brace when I sleep so I keep it extended. because sometimes, somethings gotta be slipping or something but i'm in bad pain and can't move my leg and have to massage it loose again in the middle of the night. Almost feels like dislocation :/Β  those incidents are now few and far between...but still. I'm not young anymore

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlindSightArt In reply to ZombieHun [2014-03-16 05:35:02 +0000 UTC]

I hope it gets better. Fully recovered and all

Also, you can consider yourself "young" until you have 45 or 50... Before that, is still the spring of life! After the 50, you level up to Wizard!

In the positive side of things, you learnt something after the incident, and just taught someone else about it. Which is much appreciated!

yeah, i learned never to do weight machines without a trainer shadowing you XDΒ  i swear to god, thats why i dont work out unless its jogging, i dont need to hurt myself any further from stupid practices etc etc or agitate previous hurts -_-Β  at least my job keeps me physically strong

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlindSightArt In reply to ZombieHun [2014-03-16 05:48:51 +0000 UTC]

I don't like machines... They are too big/noisy for my likes, so I use the separate sets on weights, and store them in a corner of my room.
My trainer? Myself~ Reaching limits and all, usually only doing exercises/techniques that I know, or have seen before. Every now and then I google some different exercises to do with them. But yeah, a trainer is certainly useful to not hurt as I've done myself before (not serious.... just some pain).

Well, nice job! Any job that keeps you in good shape should be entertaining and enjoyable. Unless it gets you to severe tiresome.

ZombieHun In reply to BlindSightArt [2014-03-16 05:52:17 +0000 UTC]

it has its long days, but overall its not too physically demanding to the point where I'm incapable of functioning in my artwork. Have tiresome days or weeks, but on a whole, I can still get stuff done :3Β  just finished something tonight, actually

That mat he's sitting on is 24" wide. He's a biggie. Big enough for a sword letter opener

That's huge! more than half a meter. How did you make the skeleton?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZombieHun In reply to BlindSightArt [2014-03-16 06:24:41 +0000 UTC]

The skeleton is bear armature. Adds a level of detail and stability that a wire armature will never compare.

There's also this kitsune mask photo -wip- at the bottom of that page... It looks metallic, which is awesome. What size (like, height and width) does it have? The picture behind could be either very big, and the mask is like a normal person's head, which is what it looks like. -Anyways, what is it made of?

And sorry for asking about it too much, is just that those works I've seen in your tumblr look amazing and that mask, as I said looks like made of metal, and I love metallic stuff, so I ask

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZombieHun In reply to BlindSightArt [2014-03-16 16:05:52 +0000 UTC]

that mask was a doll head to be made like a mask for Kitsune art dolls:

Its all resin. my doll parts are cast in resin and the metal looks are part of a process of color tinting in the casting phase so that painting isn't required. this helps keep details stronger and not easily chipped versus a painted detail.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlindSightArt In reply to ZombieHun [2014-03-17 01:48:23 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's amazing!
Thanks for sharing your works, they are all amazing and detailed. The effort you put in those is great~
Also, nice technique you apply to the resin. One last question: The owner of one of those dolls needs to give some kind of treatment to the doll/its accessories? Other than some cleaning that is.

No, nothing special, just don't man handle them or give them to children. Its just another piece of art but its like a toy for adults

BlindSightArt In reply to ZombieHun [2014-03-17 03:42:09 +0000 UTC]

What a great toy then!
--And anyone that actually values the effort, time and cost of it would keep it really far away from kids.
