Great work!

What material did you use for the end product?

Thanks....I use steel sheet, the only pieces made with plastic are the two tubes.

What do you mean...how do I work with? The weapons? The armour?

How do you work the metal to create the piece, I am assuming you didn't make that chest plate out one solid piece of metal. I figured that you probably just grounded down a piece of flat stock to make the knife. If the armor is one solid piece of metal, I would not want to be the one to wear it. You did a fantastic job. It looks very realistic.

Hehe...ok....no, the armour is´nt a solid piece, cause 10mm´s thickness of massive steel is´nt funny to wear...

I use two sheets 1mm or 1.5mm thick, to create the outer and inner side. And then I weld an small 10mm steel strap on the outer sides of this sheets...I will load up a pic , on this pic you see the system..
A cadian armour weights between 24 and 35pounds. The elysian one I think near 16pounds.

Very nice, Although, have you ever considered using aluminum cause its lighter?

ElysianTrooper In reply to bleisle [2010-04-27 10:00:30 +0000 UTC]

aluminium is more expensive and I had´nt the welding equipment for weld that material....

That makes sense. Ever tried to make power armor? or power sword?

ElysianTrooper In reply to bleisle [2010-05-04 10:03:30 +0000 UTC]

No, cause of some reasons.
I´m not a follower of space marines....they are´nt cool( my personal meaning )
A real sized power armour not playable...I think you have´nt any fun in such a equipment, can used only for display.
But if you have a real working power armour, you have problems with the government, the army.....

Powersword?
I hate swords.....cause I doing 14 years of middleage reanact, NO swords any longer.....

I ´m a follower of some imperial stuff, in which you can see the weapon in his old style form
Greets

Makes sense, truth be told when I played table top, I didn't like space marines either, I played necrons. but its a little hard to try and make the guass weapons that they used. I do have a plan to make one though.
Thanks for the help though
