Mmm... It looks a bit too dinkytoyish if you ask me. Needs more bare metal, heat damage and discolouration.

Why bare metal? The barrels of a flamethrower doΒ΄nt gettin so hot , only at the points around the muzzle, cause the promethium/ fyzilen mix get fused outside.

And to much bare metal gets punishment to the trooper cause of missing maintenance of the weapon

(a practical reason by me is real bare metal gets to fast rusty, we stay allweather in field, not only indoor).

Well you can always do some blackening of the metal. But what I mean is paint removed or burned by heat backwash and damage generally caused by active use.

I personally have some good experiences with applying furniture wax to bare metal components.

Its a good idea with the wax, cause weapons oil isΒ΄nt perfect if you stay 5 days in field...

Yes, damages ok, but in the guard there is that tolerated not so much, back behind the lines you have to re condition your weapon...

But outside the needs of the weathering, this is one of the first squad equipment weapons...I had to so much weathering on all this stuff.....and I fear the day, I had to weather the hydra AA gun turret..maybe mid of this year..cause weathering isΒ΄nt my special skill..

Well I do not know how much this translates to real scale but the magazine "Art of Modelling" has some really good articles on scale model weathering.

Sorry for the late reply...thanks for the link, when IΒ΄m closed the technical hardware things with the hydra(next month will be the radar display installed, speakers and so on) then IΒ΄ll do some experiments with that.
