Description
Woo thanks very much for the DDAgain that you to *Minato-Kushina for suggesting it and ^wdwparksgal for the feature! I feel honored
Just uploading this to use as my new DeviantArt ID.
This is not a photo manipulation, it's my real reflection in my wife's eye
How it was done:
A 300ws strobe with 2x2 soft box on my wife at 1/8 power
another 2x2 soft box on me at full power directly beside me.
7D and a 2.8 100mm Canon macro lens about 35cm away from the eye.
Image intentionally overexposed to bring out the colour in the eye.
Given the distance of the lights to each subject, there was roughly 10x more light on me that on her.

Brilliant idea!
If I make something similar it will be "inspired by your work", or some kind of art theft?

"Do you see what I see."
You have to have been in this business for years to be able to do this (actually to even know that this is possible and how). A lot of respect and admiration must go to you for this; and to your wife for having such a beautiful eye! The textures on the iris are so complex and delicate.

Damn, that is simply awesome. I'm a detail fetishist, and this absolutely satisfies my fetish. Will try to get one that good myself.
And thanks for giving me one of your precious llamas!
