Very crude sketch, might go down again soon. Just doddling to learn how to draw digitally. I'm an old hand-drawing kinda guy.Absolutely no idea why I drew a horse. So I gave it red eyes and fire, to maintain my masculine aura (I'm insecure)

Because this is a work in progress, I will give you a few tips how to improve it.
The design of the horse reminds me very much of the supernatural horses in folklore. The baleful red eyes, nostrils, and smoke give an intimidating impression. But the structure of the head needs improvement, to your defense horse anatomy is very hard to master. The basic shape of a horse head is an angular cone. The head shape does variate depending on which breed, but that is the general shape. The eyes are an oval shape and the nostrils are an oblong shape. As you can see in the photograph in the link, you can draw the direct line from the nostril to the eye and the ear. And the neck is directly connected to the head. sylvanfarmauction.com/sites/sy…
An extra tip I'd like to give to you is, make the nostrils wider and draw the ears backwards if you want to give the horse a more aggressive appearance. Those two are an indication of aggressive behaviour.

Another advise I'd like to give you is to add more colour to the red to give it more depth. I hope this was a fair and constructive analysis for you.

Sounds like good advice, all of it, thanks! And yes, horse anatomy is insanely complex!! After it, I felt I needed to consult a medical atlas just to answer my million questions

Thank you! Feel free to give an indepth critique, but my skills as i -digital- artist are still very rough, so it will no doubt take time before I even have the skill to implement suggestions

Oh, well, I know nothing about digital art. I just noticed a few things like, the neck seems a little wide and so does the muzzle at the end. And, you might of done this on purpose for the sake of simplicity, but it doesn't have a mane. And, if you want to get really technical, if the eyes are glowing (which may not be something you intended, just the color makes me think they are) it would have more of an effect on the color of the horse. I really don't think any of these things are a big deal, and they don't bother me too much.
Also, I've only ever heard of a hellion being a dog. Is this something I don't know about?
