DUDE I love this! did you use watercolor brushes? the texture is so satisfying. also this lil guy's expression is adorable. the colors are really warm and i love the hints of blue for contrast!

THANK YOU! I did not, actually! I use a couple of textures I've been collecting to use as overlays . On this one I used 2 and 5, both with very bumped up contrast. 1 and 2 were the paper towels I used to clean my brushes when I did Inktober last year, annnnnnd 5 is a picture of the concrete outside my school. I almost never use 3 and 4 because the lines are more obvious can be distracting, but those were both paper I soaked in printmaking ink when I was cleaning my station.

Oooohhhh those are some fantastic textures! Are they free? I'd love to use them. The only textures I have are non-watermarked stock photos of old paper xD

Unfortunately not! I don't have them posted anywhere, but maybe someday xD This is a pretty great general texture I used before I started making my own, though. The artist has stated that it's free for use w/o credit.
