I don't know about easy, but, here's how I do it x3

First I make a sketch and then clean it up a bit.  (so there isn't a ton of random lines straying.  I clean the inside and the outside.)  Then I color it in on a layer beneath with all the markings.  I make another layer above it and give it some base shading.  I then merge all those layers together and paint over the lines and do other shading stuff? and such.  It takes a long time, but I think the more you do it the faster it gets.
