Scales are a pretty big pain to color individually, but it really does pay off in the end

This is pretty good! Nice job! One slight issue though: The Imperial dragons are supposed to have five toes, not four. Apparently, Korean dragons have four, and Japanese dragons have three... *mumbles* I wish I read that up earlier...

Rats, I was hoping no one would point that out , but yeah, you're correct. While the exact specifics differed from Dynasty to dynasty, the 5-toed dragon (at least in chinese culture) was always reserved forthe emperor/those of imperial bloodline, whereas 4-toed dragons were generally for high-ranking nobles instead.Β By the time I'd realized my mistake, I had already inked the lineart, which is pretty embarassing considering that I am Chinese, and my parents have told me the whole claw-number thing before, so...fail on my part lol*hides in a box*.
I really had intended it to be a dragon modeled after the Imperial kind, but in retrospect, maybe I should change the title to "Long", since it's not really an Imperial dragonΒ
Thanks for the comment and !

Hmmm, yeah. I can't say I'm much better. In my stories, I'm using the fiction book Dragonology for parts of my lore of Asian dragons: Imperials, Chinese and Lindworm dragons have 5 toes, Japanese and Korean have four, and Indonesian dragons have three. So... Yeah, I can't really judge.

Beautiful colours! It really caught my eyes. The flow of it is also very pleasing although the middle loop seems a little narrow
Lovely how delicate the feet and hands/claws are.
