Interesting!
Those are shrouded propellers (opposed to ducted), now accordingly, if you had gone with ducted opposed to shrouded (ducted being longer than half the width of the propellers), then you should have gone with a bell shaped duct. Bell shaped ducts draw in more air and this make it more efficient, but this only works for lift and not thrust. In a thrust application, the broad mouth of the bell would cause more drag than any benefit of increased thrust.
Still, a very cool concept.

This is awesome. As an engineer and an avid RC helicopter fan this really struck a chord. The concept is well balanced and really original - I want one! Have you thought about doing one image like they do for concept cars, on a black screen? +fav +watch. Nice one

nice! but why wouldn't the pilot face a gap in the blades and have a blade behind him and not in front where it is in field of view?

Yes, you're right. I turned 180ΒΊ the cockpit and improves driver visibility and aesthetics of the model. Thanks for your comment.
