Part two of two. ^^I did Ben's faceup today, and I wanted to record the process. So I thought I might as well make it into a tutorial, even though I'm not nearly good enough to be teaching people anything. So even if it's labelled 'tutorial', really it's just me demonstrating how I do things XD
This is only my second faceup on Benjamin. It's maybe around my 15th faceup alltogether ^^'

What sort of gloss do you use? And once a faceup is sealed, is it okay if you touch the doll's face? Like just brushing your hand on them accidentally or gently touching?

It's important that you make sure that anything you put on the resin is not going to damage it. MSC seems to be the top recommendation, and it's my favourite to use. You can also use 'Testor's Dullcoat', which is a lot easier to find since it's used in a lot of other hobbywork. You can look for it at art specialty stores or places that sell things like model kits. :3
BUT! If you can't find either of those, just make sure you ask around. Den of Angels has toooons of info on what's good to use. Make sure to get some advice there, since I only have experience with those two products!

I have an OC that changes his makeup/looks pretty much everyday and I was wondering if you could do face-ups everyday if you wanted, or if that would ruin the doll?

And actually, when I first got my girl doll, she went through a lot of character changes and different faceups. It wasn't quite every day, but I cleaned it and redid it a lot.
It's fine to remove it and redo it as often as you like, and it won't harm the doll at all! That is, of course, as long as you take care to do it properly- as long as you spray sealant on the doll and don't use any products that are known to stain the resin, then you could repaint and repaint as often as you want without anything bad happening. With the sealing spray, it's pretty easy to take off the old facceup with some brush cleaner and just repaint it whenever you want! ^^

you could always mod the body when you get him. If you're not confident in taking large chunks out of him, there are a bunch of talented people who could C:. Adding breasts is a breeze as well. Just get some epoxy and shape them, stick them to the chest and sand them smooth. Color matching would be your only problem and there are people who do that as well.
Another option is to just buy the head and then get a luts girl body.

Ah, that's a shame. They still have the normal El in stock, but I suppose the faceup would be a little different if you got it from them, and you can't get that awesome outfit DX
But yeah, Luts is probably one of my favourite companies, I love all their dolls! But I'm more of an MSD person, so I always look at the smaller sized ones X3

I have three dolls (one from Luts even! ^^) and they're all MSD size, which means they're about 44cm tall :3 On Luts, the 'Kid Delf' would be MSD size ^^

Yeah i've been looking (Again XD) and i was like "Oh 60.5cm can't be that tall" but then i got out my 30cm ruler and was like "...jesus that's scary."

Yeah, the bigger SD size Delfs are really pretty, but I think I'm just obsessed with MSD! A lot of MSDs look like kids where SDs look like older teenagers or adults, but I like the cute little kids anyways XD
I just love so many MSD dolls, and they're easier to handle and everything. Some people who get more than one doll have a mix of different sizes, though, so maybe in the future I'd get a bigger one ^^

Yeah i think the kids are sweet and even if the SD sizes are amazing, i think something smaller would be easier to handel, pose and faceup XD I wouldn't know form experience but that's how i think about it

Yeah, I think I prefer MSD ones to any other size ^^ However, I did do a faceup on an SD doll, a Delf size. And it was a lot easier, because for me I'm really shaky with details like eyelashes and stuff, so working bigger made it easier for me to be neat ^^
And that's great! I wish I had Photoshop XD And I got a decent camera last year, but I'm still only just now trying to learn about photography. I'm getting a little better at it, though ^^ Congratulations, I'm sure it'll be awesome! X3
