"Collabs" are an art done by two (or more) artists. For example, if you were to draw the linear for an image and a friend or yours, or another artists, was to do the colour, that would be called a collaboration, collar for short

it's up to you either you want to give gifts to other deviant or not.
you have the full rights about that. but the main point is, you should kept it as a secret until you done & only let other people knows (especially to the person who will receive the gift you made) when you submit it.
