Not the same mechanist. The mechanist in fallout 3 was a man. More specifically the town's mechanic. The mechanist in fallout 4 was most likely a woman who was inspired by the mechanist.

Awesome artwork! I love Fallout, especially its robots. Its the main reason i'm loving Fallout 4's Automatron DLC. Sad to see the Sentry Bot's not in the picture, there's little to no fanart of the Sentry Bot
