Magic does exist within the Ancerious galaxy, and is quite different to Psionics. Unlike the Psion field which is intrinsically linked to the galaxy since its very inception, magic on the flip side is actually foreign to the Ancerious galaxy, brought here long ago by another race to further their own goals. This old network of magical leylines still exists in the galaxy and acts almost like a circuit which new magical nations can merely plug into and use. In this way while magic may vary wildly between each race that uses it in the galaxy there is a uniform connection and similarity between each which can help in understanding its nature and how it works.
