Description "I have fought nightmares, I have toppled empires and I have experienced things that no man should. And yet I am here, on this forsaken world, this is it. This is my final march, my journey has been long and the road treacherous. It is time for me to lay down my helmet and finally rest. You know all these decades I'veΒ always wanted to rest, but now i'm here at my twilightΒ hour, I find myself reluctant to finally go."

Emperor Myric in his final steps. Angels being inherently tied to the judge gene and therefor able to ascend have a double edged sword with their powers, the more they use them the more they forsake their material form. Minor power use or intermittent use is not an issue and an Angel can rest to regain themselves, however massive feats of abilities or overpowering themselves in critical moments will permanently shed their material form more and more typically intensifying their glow and halo and allowing them to use even more powerful manipulation of the fabric of reality. During the final moments of the Draken war Emperor Myric was forced to use all the power he could muster in order to, alongside Sotek, destroy Xol'Coatl the last of the burning judges and wipe the Draken in their entirety from the face of the galaxy. While the plan worked Myric was from that moment living on borrowed time, like an acute radiation sickness patient he appeared normal, albeit much more radiant and for several decades he oversaw the Unions rebuilding trying to use every method he knew to prolong his mortal life in order to contribute more to his family and nation. But in the end it caught up with him. After crowning his Son Kahalin Emperor of the Union in a move that shocked trillions Myric took his flagship alone to the edge of known space. Finding a suitable planet he made planetfall and began a long trek to an isolated location, imagining his whole life and having said a goodbye to his wife Myric began to ascend. Not having told anyone else, and wanting to not be a burden to any the Emperor ascended in a titanic release of energy, so powerful it tripped every EWS across Union space. When the pursuit forces and his wife Duneyer finally found the Interceptor empty and the evidence of his disappearance a period of mourning was observed and Duneyer revealed the truth of the disappearance.

Emperor Myric would be hailed as the greatest of the Unions heroes and a statue would be erected of him in the Hall of Heroes where his armour and weapons would be kept. While the Union rebuilt the Emperor was no longer with them.

He would however, return during the Noontide war, manifesting to save his son from death at the Nakai's hands, and going on to lead the Unions war effort for a small period before once again ascending.

This is why great leaders should always keep a backup copy of their mind in some safe location and update it periodically... In the event of their physical body dying, they can at least have a being with their exact personality and memories take their place and continue their plans.

Too bad that if their physical body was unique somehow, the copy won't be getting one, though.

Aha such practices will be covered in my incoming mega ultimate info doc...

However sadly the Angels minds were far too complex for mental scanning and structure storage

What vessel did Myric take to the planet where he ascended?

I'd like to know what that one looks like. It would help with my mental picture.

Think you can draw it sometime?

Not dead, ascended Β

And well most of the other Angels are actually dead at this point lol but they are pretty sad that he leaves, but are relieved to know they too can ascend one day. Sotek is surprisingly upset as well but he too ascends in the Noontide war

I mean the Eosians dont know exactly what happened in Ancerious, that and they actually believe that it is Eos directly, for they have no knowledge of Orban or mortal Eos actual history. That and the blue cool aid helps keep them alive XD

If he can come back even for a smallest amount of time then he isn’t truly gone isn’t he? He just can’t stay in the mortal plane anymore. Plus I bet he can visit his wife in her dreams since I’d think by β€˜manipulation of the fabric of reality’ means he can also see into peoples dreams and the like right?Β

"I was...speechless. This man, this angel, had led us through fire, destruction and sheer oblivion. He had defeated monsters the likes of which people could only dream up in bedtime stories. He had built a civilization of love, compassion and unity that outshone all the stars combined. And now he was just...giving up.

I begged him not to do it. I'd fought at his side numerous times...seen him conquer all his enemies, all who stood in the way of him and his dream of peace. But he shook his head sadly at my pleas, telling me that some things could not be fought, could not be denied or avoided forever. The hand of fate was one such thing. And then, before we lost contact with him, he said one last thing: 'a man defines himself by the choices he makes, and even the smallest choice can change one's destiny altogether.'Β

[sigh] Wise words from a wise leader. I'll be sure to have them inscribed on my tombstone."

Captain Reese McGrafton, Union Aerospace Corps, allegedly the last individual to see and talk to Emperor Myric before his ascension

It's weak, I know, but it was the best I could come up with at the time.

It works, I actually had an idea for him to actually bump into some random soldier before he leaves and he talks to him and confides in everything

Goodbye Myric, you had a good run and made a cool space nation along the way. But in the end, he couldn't be there himself when it all came together... and then it all went to sideways when the Nakai said "furk you" to everyone.

But as a bonus, you ascended into (what I assume is) godhood. That is always a plus.

EmperorMyric In reply to ChangerOfWays42 [2020-01-05 21:32:47 +0000 UTC]

He did indeed, he got to say his proper goodbyes the second time round however

And well not true godhood in the traditional sense but he definitely got to experience whats beyondΒ

ChangerOfWays42 In reply to EmperorMyric [2020-01-05 21:36:50 +0000 UTC]

Aww, that's always good.

Eh, godhood can mean anything if you make yourself better. For example, if say a human becoming an angel if you live in a primitive society. Technically, Myric before ascending could be considered a god. I mean, he wasn't, but very well could be. But I get what you mean be ascending. I have a similar thing I am going to do with my universe.
