Description
As promisedHere is my very first watercolour tutorial that you've requested me.
and something I would like to say before you start
Make sure you have some tissue papers while you're working, This will helped you control the water flow, cleaning your brushes, etc.
and don't use only one water container, let's find 2-3 of them
one is for washing your brushes and one for mixed with paints.
If you use only 1 water container, the water will become muddy and give you some horrible dirty effects, ruin your precious work for all time.
And use the best quality brush you can afford.
====================
Here's the link to my 2nd watercolor tutorial.

Wonderful work! I faved this and will reference it for when I start my painting. Quick question: How much water are you supposed to mix into watercolors? I know the color will darken or lighten according to that, but will adding too much damage your paints or pictures?

so um..... what if you make a mistake? (i always mess up.... like the wet paints mix together on the paper and it spreads to places were i don't want it to be)

how do you prevent the paper from wrinkling? everytime i try to do watercolor the paper always ends up wrinkling on me!

Nanahii In reply to NinjaRukia [2012-05-24 15:54:32 +0000 UTC]
Umm sorry for intruding!
Taping the borders of the paper to the table you're working on should prevent the paper from wrinkling (then just remove the tape carefully when it's completely dried and it should be okay )

it's ok thank you though. i have seen that technique being used in other tutorials and books but i was always so nervous that the tape would peel the paper off. would painter's tape be ok to use?

I don't know if painters tape would peel the paper off, I haven't tried that out >.< The one I use is paper tape and it works just fine

ooo try masking tape.. many artists use it anyway in watercolour to maintain the white sides

emperpep In reply to NinjaRukia [2012-05-15 16:07:03 +0000 UTC]
Is it watercolor paper, card paper, or printer paper?
Try not to add too much water on it,If you use low gram paper.

i'm pretty sure that it is watercolor paper. i think that i used canson water color cold pressed 90 lb(185 G)since it was the most recent pad that i found in my room(i don't buy watercolor paper very often but did for an ap art class project last year).

One question though:
Are your sketches always that clean, or do you do rough, scratchy sketches and then trace it over with the clean blue lines?

Thank chu for the tutorial, I would so love to try watercolour out now; I might someday....
If I could ask where do you get your watercolours from? >
