Description
Now in Technicolor!Really, I just wanted an excuse to draw the Animorphs again after my first attempt four years ago . I consider this drawing a way to pay homage to my favorite series growing up, and to poke fun at myself. Because...well...really, like Michael, I love a good conspiracy. The more I kept thinking about one coincidence, the more others started becoming obvious to me. (The one about Jace and Tobias is part in-joke with my friends, and part spoilerific similarities.)
The X-Men Evolution similarities are for another day.
And if you have no idea what Animorphs is...allow me to enlighten you .

Haha. I love moments like these in writing.
I think my biggest one came when I had a best friend of a main character whose last name was "Turner" and I was simply naming her siblings, deciding to name one "Will" before it occurred to me... totally can't have a "Will Turner".
Earlier drafts of the story still have that name, I always have to make sure I've edited it all out... but its still funny.

LOL! Shut up! When I was naming my characters, if you may recall, Vanessa's original last name was also "Turner" and for a moment, I considered naming her "Elizabeth." RIGHT? I KNOW.

Yeah. Damn Pirates of the Carribean. I was just trying to use the last name "Turner" because it worked, is common enough, and the girl's nickname is KT. (Interesting note: Her best friends name is Elizabeth. I suppose I just like ultra-common names for my average characters)
Its when things don't mentally connect that issues arise, I suppose. After so much writing, you just... stop remembering everything and realize it later. It annoys me.

lol, I hate the feeling when you realise something you've poured your heart and soul into turns out being strangely similar to a pre-existing story/show/movie/etc. XDD At least if people are comparing your work to something you've never heard of before, you can tell them exactly that.
But as for this...well, they say imitation is the greatest form of flattery...
And besides, personally I don't think your work is that much like Animorphs. I mean, no-one's going to be analysing character stereotypes XD

Hah, thanks. Yeah, I think I'll have to go with the "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" angle, because the number of coincidences was a bit jarring once I realized them. With stuff like X-Men, the comparisons are gonna be obvious and unavoidable, but with Animorphs, I knew the series inspired me, but I guess I didn't realize until now just how much!

lol, but i'm sure would be many would are unfamiler with x-men and animporphs (as crazy as it sounds) who won't even notice. And of the people who do know those series', there will always be dense people who won't pick up on the simularities. As long as you make the story your own, and as original as you want/can, i'm sure people will overlook any simularities with other series.
And while I hate to use Meyers as an example, look at her work; at least no-one can say her version of vampires and werewolves aren't original, even if they go against the long established norm. And she's making millions off it XD
