Description
More art for that graphic novel I'm thinking about. I was supposed to draw out some model sheets and then ended up busting out this thing instead. Made it mostly to get my color palette down.[Copy pasta description:]
Sunny and Ken become accidental roommates (due to a hilarious misunderstanding when it comes to their namesβ¦okay, not that hilarious). The comic would be as much about Ken and Sunnyβs relationship/friendship as it would be about how their family and society has had a hand in shaping them into the people they are now.
(I just had to call it "SunKen," didn't I? Oh god, there will be water/drowning/sinking metaphors galore now...)

...I didn't get the puniness of the name until you pointed it out to me. Wow. I am losing my touch.
This still sounds awesome. I like the layout of the cover/poster. *thumbs up*

Would this wind up being a graphic novel, or more like a web comic? Cause I've been looking for more good webcomics.
On a very related note... I'm actually rooming with a guy this year (non-boyfriend, no relation, just a friend cause I decided I couldn't tolerate living with girls anymore)... my parents are okay with it cause we're both "good catholics" and they know there's nothing going on... but the rest of my super-catholic family is... well, probably praying for my soul cause they don't understand how that could happen without us 'living in sin' (while they really should be praying for my soul for being so many other big no-nos in the church). So, needless to say... this kind of comic would probably entertain me greatly, and it sounds like its got more of a realistic humor running through it.
Perhaps my only hesitation in seeing it as a "graphic novel" is it sounds utterly devoid of explosions and blood. Here I should note the only graphic novel I've ever made it through is Watchmen, so... might be a little skewed of a perspective there. But I'd be interested to see how this shapes up.

Graphic novel (combining my two loves: storytelling/writing and art c--but I'll probably post it on the web.
Well, what a coincidence, then! Except, errrr, considering where Sunny and Ken's relationship will probably head...best to make sure your super-catholic family doesn't read this, less they get any ideas about you and your friend.
I read Watchmen too! And Y The Last Man, which is amazing. This will be considerably less bloody and with less explosions. (Or will it...?) I don't know if you've read her stuff, but *bigbigtruck is doing a graphic novel called "The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal" and she is more or less my inspiration for "take what could be a mundane concept and make is compelling and real and engaging and funny and heartwarming."

Haha, its ok, my parents are not likely to be here any time soon. Besides, they've got far more reasons to worry for my soul than living with a guy, so... it'll be fine. But it'll definitely be interesting to see someone else's take on where rooming with guys could lead, maybe it'll better explain why I keep getting those looks. (No, I'm not that naive, I promise).
Strangely, I really enjoy graphic novels, I just don't seek them out very much. So I'll definitely have to check out her stuff (thanks, I love when people recommend good deviants). Granted, I work under the policy that everything could use more blood and explosions, but then again I'm more of a "guy" than half my guy friends, so that's really not surprising.
But yeah, I think it sounds like a cool idea, I'm definitely interested to see where it goes!

Accidental roommating due to gender confusion is always awesome!
