Some characters I've been working on for a while. I'll post some of the concept work when I've inked it (because, honestly, my concept sketches are usually pretty scatterbrained and horrible--full of Xs and checkmarks and scribbles and really faded lines).
Mecha and Stem are characters from a comic--of the same name--I've been writing for the last... maybe half a year? Truthfully, I only have the first two issues basically written but the concept is so... natural to me(?) (I guess?) by this point that the ideas are just flowing and it's becoming easier and easier to come up with pages, concepts, environments and stories.

I don't want to reveal TOO much about them beforehand. If you want to know anything specific like species, personality, affinities, blah blah blah, you can ask.
What I can say is that the comic they're going to be the center focus of is a sci-fi/fantasy adventure story, full colour, completely different world to ours and it kinda sorta revolves around prophecies, the end of the world and flowers.

Still haven't figured out what colours I'm gonna do with Mecha. I was leaning towards metallic purple for them but... eh, I dunno yet. I'll likely do a colour chart at some points when the commissions I've got right now are done with. (Maybe brown?) Stem's probably going to be just solid white at this point, kinda making me at least want to use a contrasting darker colour for Mecha, so I guess we'll see how things go. Definitely probably not going to use blue though.

Also posting this because I have an art trade going on with Electtonic and they're gonna be drawing Mecha with their own robot OC and doing their own thing with possible colours for Mecha. Woot woot~

Also, please don't approach me about doing an art trade. I approached Electtonic because they had an open invitation and I was stressed and wanted something to relax myself. I don't just do art trades willy nilly, especially not with people I don't know, and I'm not even open for them right now so please don't even bother, the answer will most likely be "no."

I know it's a shoddy traditional piece, but I don't want to put this one in my scraps, if only because I want Mecha and Stem to be the forefront of my comic work for a little while.

Normally I would say critique is welcomed, but considering I'm opting to not reveal the necessary contrasting components I'm considering for their comic (this is with regards to colour and design) I can't guarantee that any critiques given will be utilized.
Anyone who might have reservations about the detailing on Mecha's body, however, can breathe a sign of relief, since Mecha usually wears clothes.
