Portland stone is so vague. Is it limestone, marble, or granite?

It's a calcium carbonate apparently... the surfaces go kind of plasterish when it gets wet. Not that it was that soft though, unfortunately. Bits of flint and shell caught in it made parts v tough. You're right about that scale thing - next stop lifesize!

Wow. I am glad you took the opportunity to go to the source. It makes life more real and I agree on the connection to the materials and place. Hope you didn't knick the rock though. -Interesting to imagine you trying to jump a fence with that stone!

Yes it must be a good feeling. Well we certainly have lots of elements outside in this country.
I've had all sorts of things in the air recently work wise. Still trying to become a rich and famous illustrator. Just had a big project fall at the last hurdle, but it has born an entirely new project so there's a positive. I haven't been around here much myself in a while. Just checkin in from time to time. I'll keep this page alive though cause I've had some good experiences via dA. I've even been farting around on facebook, but that's a pretty frustrating site half the time I find. Nice for sharing music and stuff though.
