Description
Hooray, I finished my first digital painting! Not bad for an elderly Wacom tablet --not very pressure-sensitiveWorked directly over my pencils and left some of the rough pencil texture underneath.
The border I designed after an illuminated manuscript, a while back.

Is it just me, or does she look a lot like Lady Mary in Downton Abbey?

I don't particularly understand why her sexual orientation was so important to the art piece that it had to be in the title. It feels like it implies that straight women couldn't be traditionally "masculine," and that lesbians are supposed to be. Which is ridiculous, of course. I mean, you didn't put her name in the title, but you felt the need to tell us about her sexual preferences in the title. Don't you think that's weird?
Good art, though.

because her being a lesbian is part of the artist's story about two girls in a romance in medieval times? seems to me since she doesn't have a name the artist just went with the idea (as in a lesbian knight) instead. in another piece she has another lesbian medieval girl who is very feminine so the artist is in no way implying that straight women can't be masculine ... i think it's ridiculous to assume that just because someone (who is probably gay in real life, too) has a female character who is both masculine and lesbian it's somehow ~offensive~ and making a ~statement~.

As someone else, I think, has mentioned...I want to know more about this girl, now. Where's she going and why, is she coming back...and who's lucky enough to have her looking back at them, one last time?
I love her face--like, I cannot begin to describe my love for her face. XD I have absolutely no idea why this is. There's just something about her eyes...
Wonderful job capturing motion in this, as well. The picture feels like she's just paused for a brief second, during which you managed to capture her--and in the next second she wheeled the horse around and took off. Absolutely stunning, wonderful job.

Did you originally have it named "medieval girl"? I downloaded it onto my computor a long while ago and looked it up again. Noticed it was different

Hi, I don't think I ever had the title different, though I had a WIP of it in my scraps. Maybe it was someone else! Anyway, glad you like it...

Gorgeous. I love the delicate border, but the armor/chain metal is detailed beautifully. I am surely waiting now for her to come and whisk me away on her white horse

LOL... horses are challenging, for sure. I used to draw them a lot as a kid, but I still use ref if I want them to look halfway decent.
