...and bubble booty.I really like Lilly Ann's tattoos. They're so fun to draw. But they do take forever, which is the only downside to them.

Thanks! It takes so long to draw them. I might end up putting her in a long sleeved shirt more often because it takes me a solid hour to get her tattoo done. Though perhaps that's just because I have to go back and forth from the other pictures with her tattoos to figure out what goes where. It might get easier once I draw them more often. haha

To be honest, if I was brave enough, I'd get something like this done on myself. I love tattoos like this, but I'm so terrified of having all that work done. Like that's more then just several hours of work.Β

I'm going to get the tattoo i designed for Arden on my arm, but on half way. It'll start on my shoulder and it ends on the rib and back so i know I'm going to be in serious pain

I feel it. I haven't gotten a tattoo yet because 1. I don't have the money and 2. when I did have the money I was too scared to do it and 3. there's no good places down here so I'd have to go to San Francisco.

those are good reasons, I'm just a big baby. When I do get it done I'm going to cry and the tattoo artist will give me that crazy look and tell me he didn't start yet.

Oh my god!! I feel it though; I'm terrified of needles. I nearly passed out the other week because I had to have my blood taken for a lab. I felt really stupid after because I was acting like a baby. haha

I just had my blood taken and they took three samples, but on the third tube it wouldn't come out so they decided to move the needle side to side in my arm and i have a scar to prove it.

WHYYYYYYY?!?!?! That's pretty similar to what they did to me the other week. Like they couldn't find my vein so they just kept moving the needle around in my arm and that's when I was like "I'm gonna pass the fuck out guyss..."Β

Dang, this is real nice! I want to draw tattoos more often but I'm afraid that the tattoos I come up with myself will have some meaning that is either offensive or lame xD Tattoos has their own language from what I can understand..

Usually I just come up with my own patterns or look up references. For this character I knew it was safe to put these tattoos on her because she isn't white. I've noticed that it's safer to not offend anyone if you don't put tribal tattoos on white characters. I think that's the major issue; tattoos that have religious meaning or an extensive background look super offensive on white characters who DON'T have that background. So it's always good to research certain tattoo designs!
But typically if they're tattoos you design yourself, then that's totally safe, as long as they don't have the look/patterns of other tattoos. For instance, I used lots of reference for this character's tattoos, so I also had to look into the background of them. If you're just going to put, say, a bird or a bug or some type of pretty tattoo design - with lace or crystals or whatever - then typically they don't really have much meaning than what the character believes they mean. Like "I got this raven tattoo because my grandma liked ravens" or "I just really liked this art and design, so I wanted it on my body for the rest of my life."
It's always good to take into consideration of what your character is also into and what they personally would get. Because tattoos can say a lot about people/characters.

(*-Randomly butting in, but thought I'd comment: -*)Β I'm no expert, but my understanding is that the "language of tattoos" is largely subjective with few, if any, meanings that are 100% consistent across the board... it's more up to the individual what a tattoo they're getting is supposed to mean than it is any specific set of rules.Β
So I'd probably apply that same principal when giving one of your own characters a tattoo, maybe?Β

Tattoos are on the LONG list of things I need to practice drawing more XD.Β
Anyway, this girl's definitely got some nice ones <3.Β The black and white abstract patterns are so pretty and cool <3.Β And the angle is perfect for showing off her body (including said tats) in a classy fashion <3.Β
... And yes, that is a nice bubble butt, too :-p <3.Β
