Description Soon after the Germans first encounter the "mega chicken" they started drawing up plans for a massive super heavy tank that would be able to engage such a treat. After final approval from the SS, the E100 became a reality. With only one produced and code name ""HΓΌhnerhΓ€scherschlange" this 130 ton monstrosity featured flared side skirts, roof-mounted MG 42 and a massive 170mm AT gun. The only real question was, would all this be enough to take down the feathered menace.

This is a 1/35 Trumpeter Jagdpanzer E100 model, built "outta the box"(except for the decals) painted with enamels and weathered with art acrylics and pastels. This beast was heavily inspired by growing up with G.I.Joe(Cobra!!!XD) and playing tons of wolfenstein 3d, in no way do I support fascism or ignorance of any kind. This was a pretty fun project and it really was a blast thinking up some sort of sinister SS tank. This thing is pretty freaking huge and overall think it was worth the cash, I would recommend it to any beginner or expert. The only tricky things with this model are the size and standard crazy Trumpeter instructions.
Anyways I am really happy how the one came out, and can't wait for a nice day to see how the chickens like it.

didn't the E100 have a turret rather then it being a tank destroyer?

there were several "E100" in the works but they didn't really leave the drawing board. some hulls were built but they never went past the basic prototype stage. but yes there is a different E100 with a turret.

Ah yes I heard that the E100 could have an E75 turret on it which is the one in the picture but the ones I saw were big blocky turrets not as long as the maus's turret

Your welcome
I remember the Germans tried to make an very large tank but the project failed due to heavy weight and not enough time to finish it.

I was thinking of this just the other day.
Odd that you find my elephant, but I was thinking of painting it red like this. lol
Because my camo is almost too good.
It is super hard to see the lines of the tank.
I like the colors though, and the super snake, rad as well.
Doubt ultra mega chicken would have chance here. lol

Looks like an upgunned jagdpanther with weird schurzen at the first glance... Never see a jagdpanzer E100 before

Anyway the marking is amazing, not expecting another pink panzer

yea its a crazy one. the E100 never went into production, from my research only one prototype was build.

thanks a ton, this one was super fun and relaxing.

someday! i have been researching them lately(the models) i would like to get a kit and some aftermarket as well(they make soooooo much for the Leo 2) that way i can do it up proper.

Defibulator In reply to enc86 [2013-04-23 21:49:12 +0000 UTC]

I know that there is a resin upper hull for the Canadian Leopard 2A6M's in Afghanistan with the barracuda camouflage netting, which matches with the Hobby Boss kit that I built. I don't know if it would also work with the Tamiya kit, though...

enc86 In reply to Defibulator [2013-04-24 12:01:24 +0000 UTC]

i have seen some crazy stuff for both the Hobby Boss and Tamiya. still undecided.
i have soo many kits backlogged in my stash i have got a little bit to decide.
but i want to make sure i have got it right, the leo 2 is by far the most requested tank i do.

Awesome, love the weathering on the skirts.
Lol, I also have those snake decals, they are from an AH 1 Cobra from Revell. I still have mine and plan to applythem on some luftΒ΄46 aircraft when I get another one.
And I really gotta have that Jagdpanzer Krokodil(the nickname of the e-100 Jagdpanzer). Yours looks impressive, by the way does this kit has any interior detail? I remember that trumpeter always had some nice interior gimmicks, like in the gw tiger there was an engine and gearbox and the MΓΆrser Karl featured an interior where the driver sat.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to Teratophoneus [2013-04-22 13:12:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a ton friend!
yea that snake decal was just too cool and seemed to fit perfect, i could not resist.

this was a pretty cool kit from trumpeter but not on the cheaper side($44us) i was surprised but it didn't come with any interior details [link] the only gimmicks with this kit are the MASSIVE size(it really is quite big, towers over all my other models) Photo etched grill set and the barrel assembly is quite detailed(around 14 parts) the side skirts are allso really impressive and finally molded. anyways when i first got it i was disappointment the details but it builds up quite nice,is very big and is a very interesting subject. i still highly recommend this one, if your looking for a massive German tank.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Teratophoneus In reply to enc86 [2013-04-22 13:23:33 +0000 UTC]

ah thanks for the information, it sure looks like a really neat kit. But it sure has quite few parts compared to most trumpeter kit, I would have thought that this one is in the 500-600 part area, but from your pics it looks more like in the 200-250 part area. Nevertheless, I hope that I can get my hands on one soon
