Description Soon after the Germans first encounter the "mega chicken" they started drawing up plans for a massive super heavy tank that would be able to engage such a treat. After final approval from the SS, the E100 became a reality. With only one produced and code name ""HΓΌhnerhΓ€scherschlange" this 130 ton monstrosity featured flared side skirts, roof-mounted MG 42 and a massive 170mm AT gun. The only real question was, would all this be enough to take down the feathered menace.

This is a 1/35 Trumpeter Jagdpanzer E100 model, built "outta the box"(except for the decals) painted with enamels and weathered with art acrylics and pastels. This beast was heavily inspired by growing up with G.I.Joe(Cobra!!!XD) and playing tons of wolfenstein 3d, in no way do I support fascism or ignorance of any kind. This was a pretty fun project and it really was a blast thinking up some sort of sinister SS tank. This thing is pretty freaking huge and overall think it was worth the cash, I would recommend it to any beginner or expert. The only tricky things with this model are the size and standard crazy Trumpeter instructions.
Anyways I am really happy how the one came out, and can't wait for a nice day to see how the chickens like it.

by e100 , there were only two unfinished pans at end of the war . these were confiscated by the americans .

got to love german thinking problem was it was to costly and to heavy and a little to late how many were they able to build one or two i think?

no one really know for shure. some sorces say non were ever fully build, others say about 1 or 2 were build and found by the allies.

i saw some old videos of them testing one after it left the production line with it being so heavy naturally it could not go through loose dirt or mud with out getting stuck. and weather it saw any action or not who knows.

enc86 In reply to Deamand [2013-12-01 15:40:25 +0000 UTC]

yea, who knows. this thing really is massive in my collection, wayyyy bigger than even my modern armor. i could see them cooking this up to be in moved in defense of Berlin and just shoot and never move. it really is a testament to those crazy times.

I've seen the few photos and some drawings of E100, but I had no idea there was a Jagdpanzer version. A 170mm main gun? Did that happen to get swiped from a Hipper class cruiser?

Fantastically done model and a cute background story.

thank you very much!
yea there was a few E100 types out there, as soon as i saw this one i knew i had to have it. a 170mm gun is just so over the top!

You're very welcome!

Either Intel was horrifically misinformed about potential threats or they just wanted the baddest big dog on the block. Of course, just how were they planning to get the thing from one end of Europe to the other? I don't think there was a bridge standing, at the time, that could have held that concentrated a load.

Just amazing.

enc86 In reply to nomyai [2013-06-01 16:38:29 +0000 UTC]

lol i would go with the "big dog" augment seeings how they had a habit of extreme hubris in the ways of there engineering. tho i could see how a few of these properly supported would be an incredible force to be reckoned with. of course that brings up your point of movement...
there really wouldn't be anyway to really get these monsters anywhere. if the tigers had trouble due to weight i could just imagine these things in the mud, fields, and makes shift brides of Europe.
of course they probably were being designed for urban operations and city defense, it would still beg the question of how they thought they would get from point A to B. too massive for trains i suspect and way to heavy for any kind of terrain other than paved roads.

but all in all pretty impressive piece of history, that showcases the craziness of German engineering and how desperate they became. its rumored the British found a couple near completed prototypes and were studied and scraped. shame they were not persevered for history's sake.

yea i LOVED making this beast, was a bit scary tho. it was a nice BIG expensive model, lots to mess up. anyways i did this same color scheme awhile back and loved the red/panzer combo, thought it would suit this thing.

i might, i got a con in October somewhere... tho this kit really doesn't have much detail and i was told the last time i could never paint anything weird or swap decals. but hey, i guess i will have to be "that guy" at the con's with pink and red tanks.

Judging from the cupola machine gun that thing is huge. Like there was anything except giant chickens on the 1946 battlefield it couldn't kill.

i LOVE that tank
sooo much awesome!!!!!

do you drive these thru some dirt to get all the dirt in/on the treads or is that an effect?

happy you liked it buddy, there is always part of me that kinda questions myself half way thu a build like this( am i crazy painting red and giving it a snake)

all the mud is a few different effects, its all sealed in the model now. for some of my mud/slug washes i used some real dirt form outside mixed with pastels.

thanks good buddy!

its a cool kit but yea it isn't cheap. its not incredibly detailed but they put all that "detail plastic" into the massive parts for this thing. it really is freaking huge(ill get some comparisons at some point) so in the end i was really happy with this model and didn't feel ripped off.
