Description
Another Wheel of Time fanart. My rendition of Grendael the slutty forsaken... Hope you guys like it
Sorry for spam!!
UPDATE 1: Duplicated the original painting layer and set it to multiply and painted over another multiply layer to achieve final results. I think I like this darker more natural looking version. Seems more suited for an evil character
UPDATE 2: Reworked the breasts to be closer

Beautiful, stunning and deadly. I have never seen Graendal represented quite like this before and I absolutelyΒ love it. You did misspellΒ herΒ name though...it's Graendal, not "Grendael"

Stunning. Looks like the best rep of her I have seen. I try to create a character for her in RPG games, but can never get the chest big enough.

I liked the outcome of this one, but looking back at it, there are a lot of things not proportionally correct In my desire to draw her voluptuousness I may have over exaggerated the female anatomy and its underlying physics lol

Pff, who fears the forsaken? My own charming-spells are far more powerful ^^

Though the "slutty airhead" thing is only an act, she pulls it off well. Underestimating Graendal would be an exceedingly tragic mistake. You catpured her well. :3

Thank you very much! Yea...she definitely pulls it off well All the forsaken are constantly scheming and trying to get a one up against each other lol
Just like a bunch of annoying siblings who keep arguing and fighting each other

Okay, I think this may be my favorite Grendael ever - seriously. And I've seen more than a few. Fantastic work on this with the light and shadow and the...look. Keep it up!

Woohoo! Thanks a lot! I wish I ended up making her a bit more plump, but I am happy with the way her general features came out looking.

Wow! This is amazing! The best Graendal I've seen to date, for sure. She has the body she's supposed to have, AND a really beautiful face. And oh my goodness, that hair is amazing. And her eyes... Definitely the best Graendal I've seen to date.

Wow! huge compliment!! Thank you very much
I pictured her somewhat like this albeit a bit more plump. I failed to capture that part in my painting, but I am not changing it lol

Awesome mate! A small note - the shirt, make it overlap the shape of the shape of the boob on the edge. Like this - sta.sh/0y1c8gig1k
Sorry for the crude drawing, but the boob doesn't press on the shirt like that, it's supposed to go smoothly over the boob.Β

Don't worry about it, we're learning every day and sometimes we need an external observer to point out things for us. I love your stuff, this is the reason why I comment - I would like to see you improve.

Only time will tell I already know I am much better than 2 years ago. Although I didn't really start practicing a bunch until late 2012. Since then I have tried to at least have one new painting every week.

That's a good goal. Imagine having 1 painting/day. Is it possible? Not sure, I don't know how busy you are. But if you did, you'd have about 365 paintings in a year. This is just incredible. Even if half of them suck, you'll still have about 182~ (and a half lol) paintings to post and would have improved like a madman.

Haha, I wish! I am way too busy man. The life of an IT consultant. When I am not dealing with work related crap I am spending time with my wife, friends or some sort of event. Painting is something I have been trying to sneak in very early in the mornings when my side of the world is still asleep.

I studied computer science for a while and nearly ended up working as a programmer. Luckily, I pulled out very quickly! (so to say )
I understand that completely, having a life is such an important thing. Unfortunately for me, I want to be a professional artist and therefore sacrifices are in order. Not that I don't have a life, I do. But most of my time revolves around art, staying in shape and my lovely lovely girlfriend

I got a degree in Electrical Engineering, worked in that field for a few years then switched careers 100% to software. I didn't realize my love for painting until years after I graduated from college. I probably would never have gone to college for art regardless...I think software is a form of art in its own way. People have their styles and there is a certain finesse that can be achieved when the right amount of thought and passion is poured into it
Anyway, I still get to enjoy painting and I have a lucrative job. Makes it all the better for me since I am doing two things I love at the same time. Β When I retire, I will probably pursue art more seriously. (it may even happen before I retire )

Kudos to that, it sounds like one hell of a difficult degree to obtain (I have 3 friends with this degree and two that are currently studying for it (also minoring in physics- those insanely smart bastards! Yes, we're a bunch of geeks. Engineers, scientists and that artist guy who quit his computer science degree who is me hehe).
Did you draw when you were much younger? It'd be amazing to see your love for art developing in such a later stage of your life. I know I always drew something even if I didn't know what could be made with the drawings that I did. Also, experienced a strong pull towards programming and computers in general when I was 12.
I think it's wise of you that you didn't go to college to study art, I hear and read that colleges in USA are becoming obsolete and that you step out with such an incredible amount of debt that for most art students it'll be hard to cover. Some places have legendary status (Ringling, The Art Center and perhaps others) and perhaps they produce awesome people that actually do good and are able to make decent money right out of college, but mostly art is underpaid so I approached it with caution as much as I could, given that I didn't want to do anything else at that point. Still had to plan what to do and how this thing was going to feed me, buy me shoes to walk in, let me travel around etc.
I haven't experienced programming to such a high degree as team working, mostly been working on my own and doing university assignments. It was fun and there is a lot of interesting nuances that I miss a bit...
I think you're doing great balancing those two things and a family. I don't have a family of my own (wife or children) so my responsibilities are nearly nill. Perhaps one day, for now, it's full power art! Woo!

I LOVE IT *o*
Like, seriously! And I love the fact that her breast are NOT pin-upped but realistic. Girls with HUGE bosom, like Graendal is supposed to have, have their breasts look like that without a bra - they're going to the sides and the gap IS quite big so bravo for naturality ^.^
But what I love the most is the shading - her face and body looks so amazing with all those shades...

Yay!! Thank you very much for the awesome feedback lol! Makes me feel happy I worked with 100% opacity and a hard edged brush through out the entire painting, makes it harder to blend but I like the texture it creates. Gives the painting some life in my opinion. A lot of really good artists would probably frown at the results because it looks muddy and sloppy

I think I know what bothered me the first time I saw your 'prototype' painting. Shouldn't her breasts be closer to each other? They look a bit too far apart or sth.. But maybe I'm not used to looking at breasts that much, dunno. Other than that I really love the outcome of this one. You can tell she's evil even though you don't know what kind of character she is.

Yea...now that you mention it I think they should May be if I made the shading less prominent at the top parts next to her sternum it will be more realistic? I will have to play around with it I guess.

It does work a lot better now! Still not sure whether they're supposed to swing out so far to her sides, but that could be me. It's a stunning portrait!
