Description
Another Wheel of Time fanart...this time done completely in color instead of starting in gray scale. The background is supposed to be Tar Valon and Dragonmount. Below are the steps I took to complete the painting. Hope you guys like it...enjoy!Edit: Made eyes less orangy/glowy

She is just lovely and cute.
I have to say "BRAVO ! " for her facial expression. It's like whe caught the scene in a middle of a tense conversation. Great job on the details of her mouth and teeth, and of course on the background ^^

Thank you very much for the kind words! I wish I had the patience I put into this particular painting for all my other paintings. I burnt out so quickly and want to move on to something else before I give a painting a chance to develop into something much more substantial

Thank you so much! I really liked the way this one turned out mostly because I never paint backgrounds or use a variety of colors. Looking back at it now, I realize it is a bit too saturated/vibrant, but still part of the flavor of the painting
I would really love to attend JordanCon...especially because one of the guest speakers is Patrick Rothfuss! I loved the first two books of his KingKiller chronicles and eagerly await the third! Unfortunately, I barely have time to myself lately due to my current project at work

Finally, a portrait of Egwene that doesn't make her look like a derpy 40 year-old. You really captured her physical features well while also retaining a youthful look. Amazing work!

Sorry, I didn't mean she gets to be 40 years old. The span of all the books isn't that long. There are just other portraits out there where everyone seems to make her look older. For example, the artwork on the official playing cards. Yours is better!

Great hair and lifelike features, good stuff.
I really like the background building, but it's unlikely you'd see any buildings that weren't the White Tower so close up, as it sits in a large plaza and covers a lot of ground, with more buildings than just the Tower. Still, art is fluid and my nitpicks are probably why I'm not an artist! (that and talent...).

I always envisioned the white tower as a castle with one huge tower and several sub towers connected by bridges hanging over spans.Β

I love this! She's beautiful, but also as youthful as she should be. Some pictures, in my opinion, make her look older than 18-20 (i dont know quite what age she reaches by the end of the series, but in 6 she's 18), but i think this is right on the mark. I think you've captured her very well.Β

Thank you very much for the kind words! Yea, she is pretty young in the books. It is hard to capture them at that age where they are at a boundary between full fledged adult and still a teenager. I only got lucky on this one

One thing i noticed, which i've seen in lots of portrayals. The great serpent ring. I'm pretty certain it's supposed to be in the shape of a figure eight, but no one ever draws it that way

You are right, it is a detail that I have been alerted to by someone else as well. I just thought it was a snake swallowing it's own tail, but it actually criss-crosses like a figure eight as you mentioned
