The White Pegasus is NiteFall's twin brother, Golden Rays.

NiteFall was peacefully reading his 65th favorite book, 25 Ways to Get Away with Murder. Of course, the book was actually called, "How To Make Friends", but that's besides the point for NiteFall.
It was quiet. Cherry Blossom and Snow Angel, or in NiteFall's case, Mama Blossom and Mommy Angel had gone out to have tea with Doctor Whooves and Derpy Hooves to discuss something amazing. His brother, Golden Rays, had gone out to bother some pony he really didn't care too much about, so it was perfectly quiet in the house. Dead silent. Not even the birds were singing.
NiteFall looked over to see the clock read 2:15 p.m. He had been reading his book for only 5 minutes before he began to get bored. That's a record.
He looked over at his spear, leaning off the wall of his bedroom. It wasn't an official guard spear, it was made by a friend of the family's. The wood was offered by Burnt Oak, and the metal was given by Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz Pie from the rock farm. Both Golden Rays and NiteFall were given one as a birthday present not too many years ago. They always used to use it for practice on mannequins, but when they got good, they used it on each other. They figured it would better to practice with something that could block and fight back. After all, royal guards did that all of the time.
Cherry Blossom always watched them close though, for if any of them were scratched, she would race over to their side faster than a Wonderbolt could fly to aid them. To Cherry, they were always the little foals she found that one night. And on top of that, she would stop them from any more practice. It bothered them both. Of course they were always careful, but accidents happen. At least none of them ended up in the hospital... yet.
Right now, NiteFall was in the mood for some practice, but Golden Rays wasn't here. Maybe he could practice on a mannequin, he remembered Mommy Angel kept them in the basement. He placed his book down before he heard the front door open with a bang. There was only one pony he knew that would open the door like that. And because of it, he quickly picked the book up and continued to read.
"NITEFALL!!!!"
Golden Rays was home...
"NITEFALL! NITEFALL! NITEFAAAAAAAAAAAALL!" he shouted happily down the hall towards their room. Maybe he'll think he wasn't home and go search somewhere else.
"NiteFall!" he shouted from outside the bedroom. Horse apples...
He burst open the door and had a big smile on his face. Of course, NiteFall didn't see, he had the book right up against his face.
"Hey NiteFall!" Golden Rays said.
NiteFall tried to ignore him.
"Hmm... trying to pretend I'm not here, huh? Come on Nite! I have big news!"
NiteFall lowered the book so only his eyes were visble. "What?" he mumbled from behind the pages of the book.
Golden Rays had a smile as big as Pinkie Pie's as soon as NiteFall spoke.
"Well... I got an invitation to the Guard's Graduation Ceremony! Where the guards in training finally pass their test and join the Royal Army! And this year's graduation will be held in PonyVille! The invitation says I'm allowed to bring one friend along! Or this case, brother!"
NiteFall placed his book back over his eyes to show he wasn't interested.
"Oh come on! It'll be fun! Just think! One day, we'll both be the ones on the stage! Given a Medal of Honor and shaking hooves with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna themselves! We'll be guards! We'll be Equestria's soldiers! Heroes even!" Golden Rays said looking over at the light, playing with his thoughts.
NiteFall didn't speak and tried to read his book.
"And afterwards, we can go visit Mommy Angel and Mama Cherry at the Doc's place! We can see the awesome thing he was talking about!"
NiteFall remained silent.
"Go away..." NiteFall thought.
"Please...?"
ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! Oh great. He was using his sad, puppy, pretty-please-with-cupcakes-on-top voice. NiteFall had to avoid his face. He just had too!
Suddenly, a white hoof wrapped around his hoof which was holding the book. With a small tug, the book was lowered and NiteFall saw the face of his twin brother.
Golden Rays had his tongue sticking out at him. He also closed his right eye and his flank was up in the air. He was wagging his magenta tail in the air like a happy dog. His bright blue eyes were bigger than usual and looking right into NiteFall's annoyed, bright green ones. If NiteFall didn't do something soon...

Golden Rays would tickle him...

"Okay I'll go!" NiteFall said firmly.
"Yay!" Golden Rays looked at the clock and then looked outside.
"You know, many people think, you have my boredom and I have your fun!" Golden Rays giggled. It was true. NiteFall hardly ever smiled, and his eyes were like in a permanent state at where it looked like he was about to sleep or something. He almost never got surprised or laughed, like Maud Pie. On the other hand, Golden Rays, who was younger by two minutes, was always smiling, always happy, and always full of engery! Almost like Pinkie Pie! Nite was like Maud and Golden was like Pinkie!
NiteFall stood up and placed the book back on his book shelf, before he turned to see a spear in his face. "But we still have around half an hour before the ceremony starts. How about a few rounds of practice before we head off?"
NiteFall, looked outside and smirked. He nodded and grabbed his spear. "Yay! Let's go!" Golden Rays said before he ran outside.
If there is one thing that NiteFall likes, it's a battle. If there was something he loved, it was his annoying, loud, happy brother. And he would never want him to go away.
