This is a list of the 10 aliens I want to have as my first alien if I got an Omnitrix. These guys are all from the canon series and are based on versatility and usefulness in various situations and my own personal opinion.

1. Feedback
Do I even need to go into detail with this guy? Feedback is awesome and one of my favorite aliens, and I bet we all know why Ben used him so much. Can you blame him? Feedback’s powers include electrokinesis, elastic tendrils, electricity generation, and the ability to absorb any type of energy be it electrical, thermal, electromagnetic, even nuclear.

2. Swampfire
This is another good one. FYI, I like both the pre-blossomed and post-blossomed designs equally, I just see myself as pre-blossomed due to my own age. Swampfire is like a fusion of Heatblast and Wildvine, making him a very useful alien. He has super strength, pyrokinesis, chlorokinesis, fireballs, heat generation, vine tendrils, incredible regeneration capabilities and more.

3. Big Chill
Big Chill is another one where I find both designs equally cool. My interpretation however is just the Omniverse design except slimmer. Big Chill can freeze opponents or anything else with his ice breath and cryokinesis, turn intangible, fly, turn invisible(I think), and he has those sweet wings which double as a cloak.

4. Diamondhead
Diamondhead is one of the heavy hitters. He can lift heavy objects, defeated Vilgax once, and can survive nearly anything. He can also fire sharp crystal shards, create huge crystal constructs, turn his hand into sharp blades or other weapons, and even if his durability fails, he can still regenerate his body(not to Swampfire’s level, but still impressive).

5. XLR8
XLR8 is one of Ben’s fastest aliens, capable of going fast enough for everything to look like it was going in really slow motion. He can run at hypersonic speeds, run on water, create vortexes by running in a circle, and can outrun laser fire.

6. Overflow
To me, Overflow is more than just a Water Hazard rip-off. Overflow can fire blasts of pressurized water and possibly even create a huge wave to ride on, can use his hydrokinesis to fly, and breath underwater. Unlike Water Hazard, Overflow can create water blades, and seems to be more versatile and more powerful.

7. Humongousaur
Humungousaur is another heavy hitter alien. He can lift probably very heavy objects, he’s a miniature version of Godzilla minus the fire breath, and his tail makes for a powerful weapon. He can also grow up to at least the size of a ten story building and go Jurassic on your enemies.

8. Grey Matter
One of the smartest known aliens. Grey Matter is small enough to fit in places that you normally could never reach, stick to walls, and has a keen intellect. His feats of intelligence include multilingualism and expertise in mathematics, engineering, physics, biology, chemistry, technology, and more. Big minds come in small packages.

9. Upgrade
Upgrade is another useful alien, so long as technology is present. Upgrade has the ability to bond with technology such as a vehicle, a machine, or a device and turn it into a more versatile or more weaponized contraption, like a symbiote except technology-based. He can also survive in space and fire a beam from his eye.

10. Jetray
Jetray is another of Ben’s fastest aliens. The only difference here is that XLR8 is faster on the ground and Jetray can fly. Basically he’s XLR8 for flight. He can fly as fast as Jetray can run, has a prehensile tail and feet, can fire neuroshock beams from his eyes and tail, survive in the vacuum of space, and enter hyperspace like in Star Wars.
